The space
The Bothy is perfect for walkers and cyclists and is located on national walking and cycling trails. We are a 1.5 miles from the market town of Machynlleth and 1.7 miles from the town’s train station. It’s worth mentioning that the walk to the property is up a steep hill. You will be staying on a family farm and small, peaceful walkers and cyclist’s campsite. The Bothy is located in a secluded spot, tucked behind our home. The shared facilities in the communal camping barn are in the last building on the right as you look at the farmhouse. The car park is on the right hand side as you approach the farmhouse.

As well as the hut you are free to use all the facilities in the communal camping barn including the wet rooms, kitchenette and seating area on the mezzanine level. The campsite opens on the April 1st and closes on October 1st, you are welcome to use the communal outdoor bbq and seating area when the campsite is open and outside these dates when access is clear.

Neighbourhood highlights
The bothy is nestled in woodland above the owners' farmhouse in a very rural location, 30 minutes' walk from the historic market town of Machynlleth in the Dyfi Valley - Wales' only UNESCO Biosphere. Due to its location and traditional rural industries the landscape is breathtaking and the area's natural habitats diverse.
Machynlleth is within easy reach of Snowdonia National Park, on the bus route to Cader Idris and only a short a train ride from the coast and miles of beautiful beaches.
There are plenty of places to eat out in the area and Machynlleth itself has many interesting independent shops, an Art Gallery, Leisure Centre, grocery stores and a petrol station. Wednesday is market day.
There are also several nature reserves, castles, sites of historic interest and iconic buildings to visit nearby.
