Pets are welcome in the courtyard property; however, we have two other properties on site that we try and keep allergy and pet free (though with the farm being home to an animal sanctuary being allergy free isn't always easy!)
Our farm is also home to Dovedale Animal Sanctuary and every animal (apart from Ozzi-Bear our dog) is rescued. Guests often go and say hello and feed our resident alpacas, goats and ponies as well going to collect eggs from the hen house and feeding the Ducks and Geese. We lend ourselves to guests who love animals as our cheeky goats and alpacas love to come and say hello especially to those who have apple or a carrot or two! In hiring the farm, you are supporting Dovedale Animal Sanctuary.
Guests often wonder about the facilities; all the kitchens are large enough for you to provide cooking for everyone on site and we provide all the crockery etc for catering either inside or out. The gardens are all south s/west facing and keep the sun long into the evenings and if you have children in your party, there is a safe garden with little tykes play equipment for younger ones. The gardens lead into our fields and paddocks which are perfect for playing games and hosting outdoor activities. All guests are welcome to explore the farm and pet or feed the rescued animals, especially our cheeky goats and alpacas.

The Farm is also our home, and we are very relaxed and happy to share our little world with you. There have been many residents over the years as the farm was once home to a Viking Longhouse, the Romans lived here and built the culvert that is still running down the drive and the Tudors built the stone house we now live in. The landscape around us is stunning, it has its own eco climate, when the sun shines its hot and when the wind blows it goes over the top of us as the Vikings were good architects, we love it and it is a perfect base to explore this beautiful part of the world.
Our ethos is relaxed and informal with a philosophy that “Nothing is a problem”. We are very approachable and want our guests to feel at home. The Farm is an escape from the world, rural and remote, its not perfect but its comfortable with everything you need to enjoy a break away where you can feed the animals, watch the sunsets, put your feet up, chill out with drink, light the BBQ and enjoy quality time with your favourite people. You create your occasion, bringing your walking boots, provisions and a carrot or apple or two for the animals and we give you the space and respect to do your own thing.
