Instead of renting a flat, with people above and below you, why not rent a private Victorian townhouse?

Character-filled, 2-bedroom cottage with private walled garden, eco-fireplace, A/C, bbq, separate dryer -- all rare for London!

Built in 1850 and located in a quiet conservation area, yet with Famous Camden Market at the end of the street, it has great transport links.

There are uk kingsize and queen beds and also a comfy queen sofa bed, so can accommodate 6 people

The space
It's a 1850s Victorian end terrace cottage with original windows and original shutters -- lots of historical character -- on a quiet tree-lined street, but with the World Famous Camden Stables Market (The main market) at the end of the road. It's not a sterile apartment in a block of flats but a private townhouse home. The front bedroom has a U.K. king sized bed. The back bedroom has a comfy large uk queen bed. Downstairs, the house has a semi-open plan kitchen and living room, complete with comfy 3 seater sofa bed. With the outside garden sofa that seats 7 and kitchen table/chairs (seats 6) there is space to hang out even when the sofa bed is in use.

The house is fully furnished and recently refurbished (Sept 2025) . It has a stocked kitchen and amenities, as you would expect in a real home. Guests are welcome to make themselves at home, cooking your own meals, watching tv/streaming or using the garden. I operate a 'my home is your home' policy (within reason).

The fully equipped kitchen is well stocked with necessary pans, plates, condiments etc, so no need to buy coffee/tea, olive oil, salt/pepper or herbs (in fact you are welcome to cut your own fresh herbs from the garden if you'd like!) 300+ thread count sheets, plush towels and bath sheets -- not skimpy, thin towels! -- as well as shampoo/conditioner are all provided for your use. In the summer I have a portable air conditioning unit to make sure guests can be comfortable during any unexpected heat waves. I aim for you to have a luxurious 'home away from home' stay!

I have been rated a Superhost by Airbnb since 2015 so you can feel confident you'll have a good stay in a nice house.

This is my primary residence which I live in when it's not rented. It is not a soulless rental property like many in London. (I used to rent the house out with my cats staying behind, but the cats passed away in Autumn 2018 so the house has been cat-free for some time.)

I can provide a travel cot (crib) and toys/games for kids and families. There is a selection of games in the bookshelves including jenga, uno, rummiklub, 5 crowns, cards against humanity, trivial pursuits and a couple of boxes of Lego. If there's a game you'd like, let me know and I'll get it in for your use.

2 minutes walk away is Kentish Town Sports Centre which has a large gym and 25m pool in a former Victorian Bath house. Day Guest passes can be purchased from gym reception.

There is a park across the street with outdoor playground and indoor soft ball play area, both of which toddlers and kids enjoy. See photos for more details.

House is well served by lots of different transport links. Trains to Wimbledon, Wembley Stadium, Tottenham Stadium, Twickenham, Stratford, Hackney, West End Theatres and all airports are within easy walk. Eurostar is especially easy to get to. As the house is so close to the market, on street parking outside the house is severely restricted. There is a pay and display across the street, with 2 hour limit for dropping off and picking up. However, there is free on street parking on Talacre Road Friday 6.30pm-Monday 8.30am, a 2 min walk away.

Check out (11am) is later than many properties, but if you need to leave your luggage while you do more exploring on your last day, please ask. I try to be as accommodating as possible and unless I have another guest checking in, am usually happy for you to 'check out' but leave your luggage in the hallway while the cleaners do their thing.

The house interior was repainted and other maintenance on the house was done over in September 2025.

Guest access
Guests have access to the whole house except two owners closets.

Other things to note
Superhost rated since 2014 so you can be sure of a good stay.

Please note that as this is my main residence there are a few personal belongings around the house and while 2 closets are reserved for owner's belongings, there is amble space in each room for guests' belongings in either a separate closet or hanging spaces. As it is my main residence, you will also find it fully stocked with anything you might need from pasta maker to pain medicine to laundry detergent to spice rack. This is not a sterile rental property but a real home.

I used to have cats, but not anymore. The house has been cat free since 2018, though you may see mention in old reviews. I have hosted many dogs however as the walled garden and park across the street make it ideal for furry friends.

In addition to typical holiday rentals, I've also had many 5 star rated longer-term stays, hosting a range of people in scenarios such as: professors on semesters abroad at UCL, London business school (and the like), professionals on sabbatical, retirees on extended stays in London, local Londoners with pets who are having work done to their own properties. Please get in touch if you're looking for a stay 90+ days.
