The space
Situated 5 miles from Padstow and 6 miles from Newquay, Porthcothan Retreats is ideally located on the coast with a bus stop next door and Newquay airport a few miles away. With its own private entrance and off road parking you will arrive to a secluded south-facing exclusive glamping spot. Each accommodation has their own garden & seating area. Situated 100metres from beautiful Porthcothan beach, this area has everything you need for the perfect stay. The Lookout itself boasts its own parking, full kitchen facilities, coffee table & sofa, a double bed, en-suite shower, toilet & sink, fridge with freezer section, oven, hob, grill & extractor fan! A smart tv is located on the wall which includes Netflix, iplayer etc. Superfast WiFi is also onsite.
A log burner will be waiting for you during the colder nights ready to light to keep you toastie & warm and with patio doors leading to the balcony & outdoor space, a table and chairs are positioned for evening sunsets - al fresco dinners, bbqs or just sitting quietly listening to the birds, overlooking the bay, it is the perfect getaway. Porthcothan Retreats is located within the bay itself. A beach, shop/cafe, bar, tea rooms, food and the South West Coast Path are all on the doorstep. The grounds lead down into Porthcothan valley taking you into nature with birds, wildflowers and all types of flora and fauna during spring & summer. A choice awaits past the vines and left into the valley crossing pretty bridges / paddling in the stream, the footpath takes you all the way to Penrose a lovely walk or turn right leading you to the beach through the enchanting footpath where you can step onto a beautiful sandy beach, sunbathe, swim & surf. Lifeguards are on duty during the main season, its a perfect beach.
For foodies there are some excellent restaurants close by from Rick Stein,Paul Ainsworth, Nathan Outlaw to other smaller but equally delicious restaurants, cafes, pubs and personal recommendations (Which are listed in your welcome guide)
Along the cliffs to the left of the beach is one of the famous filming location of Poldark, Playing nice and then onto stunning Bedruthan Steps where you must stop at the highly recommended national trust cafe. Along the cliff path to the right leads to Treyarnon beach & youth hostel another well worth visit especially for the view, sunsets & food. Padstow of course is located close by which has many excellent restaurants, boat trips, tours and lovely shops located all around the harbour. Trevose Golf club is also nearby and Newquay airport is only a short distance away.
