Porthcothan Retreats is located on the North Cornwall coastline next to the beautiful sandy beach in Porthcothan and located next to the south west coast path a few miles from Padstow. A small exclusive adults glamping retreat, tucked away in lush surroundings.
We only have 4 unique cabins on site each sleeping 2 with their own private garden & own facilities.
Foxes Cove is an adorable shepherds hut with its own separate kitchen & bathroom (sleeps2). Available for short stays all year round.
The space
Situated 5 miles from Padstow and 6 miles from Newquay, Porthcothan Retreats is ideally located on the coast with a bus stop next door and Newquay airport 20 mins away. With its own private entrance and off road parking you will arrive to a secluded south-facing glamping spot. Each accommodation has their own garden & seating area. Situated 100metres from beautiful Porthcothan beach, this area has everything you need for the perfect stay.
This gorgeous Shepherds hut has a very spacious & cozy feel. Whether you are relaxing on the chaise lounge in front of the log burner or sitting at the breakfast bar watching tv, there is ample space along with a double bed and wardrobe (The double bed is the width of the shepherds hut which may not be suitable for very tall guests) The covered deck allows a seating area for morning coffee or afternoon tea while you enjoy the south facing garden, soaking up some cornish air, surrounded by pretty fruit trees and plenty of birds and wildlife.
Porthcothan beach or walking the coastpath are both just a few steps away. A stunning location with private parking, its modern luxury glamping.
Porthcothan Retreats is located within the bay itself. A beach, shop/cafe, bar, tea rooms, places to eat and the South West Coast Path are all on the doorstep.
The grounds lead down into Porthcothan valley taking you into nature with birds, wildflowers and all types of flora and fauna during spring & summer. Past the vines a choice awaits left into the valley crossing pretty bridges / paddling in the stream, the footpath takes you all the way to Penrose a lovely walk or turn right leading you to the beach through the enchanting footpath where you can step out onto a beautiful sandy beach, sunbathe, swim & surf. Lifeguards are on duty during the main season, its a perfect sandy beach.
For foodies there are some excellent restaurants close by from Rick Steins,Paul Ainsworth, Nathan Outlaw to smaller but equally delicious restaurants, cafes, pubs and personal recommendations (Which are listed in your welcome guide)
Along the cliffs to the left of the beach is one of the famous filming location of Poldark, Playing nice and onto stunning Bedruthan Steps where you must stop at the highly recommended national trust cafe. Along the cliff path to the right leads to Treyarnon beach & youth hostel another well worth visit especially for the view, sunsets & food. Padstow of course is located close by which has many excellent restaurants, boat trips, tours and lovely shops located all around the harbour. Trevose Golf club is also nearby and Newquay airport is only a short distance away.
Ideal for short or long breaks a perfect location for a getaway.
