Peace and quiet
Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Once a milking shed - The Old Dairy - is tucked away down a private drive in an idyllic hamlet in rural Shropshire. The Old Dairy looks out onto Fitz Church which is one of the oldest brick built churches in Shropshire.
We live next door at Dovecote Barn but even though The Old Dairy makes up a separate wing to our home, it is completely self-contained with its own entrance and key safe.
The space
Original oak trusses span the living space and the very comfortable 5 foot bed is accessed by an oak staircase from the living area - please note these stairs are fairly steep if you have mobility problems. Below is a shower room with hand-made tiles made by a local artisan potter. Underfloor heating and a wood burning stove mean the Old Dairy is both cosy and romantic and makes a perfect self- catered retreat for 2 people. Neo Espresso coffee machine with a supply of pods.
Wood, kindling and firelighters will be supplied for the wood-burning stove. If staying for longer, additional baskets of wood are available for £10.
Fast internet available.
Guest access
Large garden to the back of the property leads into a field. If there are no sheep in the field you are welcome to walk your dog there . To get to it walk back up the drive and then jpast the last barn follow the drive to the right- you will then see the gate.
Other things to note
* Extra Accommodation: If your party is larger than two, we have two additional B&B rooms available in the main house to accommodate extra guests if needed.
* Kitchen Facilities: The Old Dairy is equipped with an air fryer. While it does not feature a built-in washing machine or conventional oven, you are welcome to use the ones in our main house utility room (accessible via the direct connecting door) whenever we are home.
* Parking: Please feel free to park on the gravel drive directly in front of Dovecote Barn. If the drive is full, you are welcome to park on the front lawn, which is reinforced with protective plastic matting.
