A cosy cottage lovingly restored and enjoyed by our family. Perfect for couples, families with children or a reset with friends. 200 years of traditional character meets stylish modern comfort. Close to many attractions, stunning coastal walks, sandy beaches, local pubs, and well known charming villages such as Burnham Market and Wells-Next-The-Sea just a short drive away.
The space
Lounge: Enjoy a spacious lounge with comfortable seating, perfect for unwinding. Features include sky television, nostalgic SEGA megadrive, boardgames, wireless speaker, and topping it off with a cozy wood-burning stove to warm your evenings. You can log into Netflix if you wish. Blankets are a plenty perfect for a warm evening with a glass of red, if you enjot that.
Dining Room: Gather around the large country-style dining table, with ample space or enjoy a morning cup of coffee in the courtyard space. The washing machine (due to allergies we do not provide detergent - please bring your own) microwave, bottle steriliser and boiler are housed in the dining room. You will also find some games so do enjoy! Please use any of the beach items such as picnic basket and wind breaker. There is also crabbing nets for your use. Please return and enjoy!
Kitchen: Cook your favourite meals in the compact but fully equipped kitchen, complete with a grill/oven, electric hob, fridge, dishwasher, Nespresso machine, toaster and kettle. Dishwasher tablets, salt, rinse aid and many useful products are at the cottage for you to use. We provide tea towels, cling film, foil, baking sheets and many condiments for you to use. Please bring any other things with you, you may need for your stay.
Children and babies - Highchair, stairgate, bed guard, travel cot, extra thick mattress for additional comfort, retrofittable black out blind and plug in night lights. Childrens cutlery, plates and cups are provided. Cot bedding is not provided therefore please bring your own. Please also bring a waterproof cover if required.
Please note the ceiling height is lower than usual as it is a cottage so be mindful of the head height and consider this when booking.
There is a slightly steep but typical Norfolk cottage staircase with safety banisters for you to use either side leading you upstairs:
Bedrooms: Two bedrooms.
A king size master bedroom with storage and space to fit a travel cot next to the bed. This also has a wardrobe, full height fan and a full length mirror.
A smaller bedroom which has a king size bed or twin which can be zipped together or separated easily as required.
The spacious landing also features a delightful reading area with many books and some games that can be played on the rug. You will also find our family recommendations artwork which has been drawn by Dominic my husband.
Bathroom: Refresh in a well-equiped spacious bathroom featuring a corner bath with an electric shower overhead. Storage and towels provided. Storage unit there for you to use. Toilet rolls will be provided usually two per stay. Please remember it is self catering and you may need to bring more. Haircare and bodycare products are not included.
Convenience shop is close by on Docking High Street offering lots of helpful items.
Parking is available right outside the cottage for ease of access.
Enjoy the lovely courtyard garden, perfect for leisurely morning cuppas in the sun. The garden is not large please make sure you don’t need a large garden before booking.
We do not provide beach towels, please be sure to pack your own.
Guest access
You are free to enjoy the whole cottage during your stay. There will be a locked cupboard which is the only thing you will be unable to access.
Other things to note
Staneve is an old cottage and the ceiling height is lower than usual. It may not suit taller than average people as they will need to dip their heads through the doorways.
The garden is not large but is large enough for people to sit and have tea/breakfast at the little table. It is a courtyard and has a washing line and is pebbles not grass.
The front of the cottage has a lovely bench which gets the afternoon sun and with the quiet lane it makes for a suntrap for a coffee or a glass of something cold.
During the night for emergencies which are to do with plumbing or electrics please contact me directly.
Logs for the fire and kindle are often left for the fire however, this isn’t included in the cottage hire. Please do stop at The Spar on the high street and collect some wood and kindle if you would like to use the cosy fire.
Staneve is just 15 minutes drive away from the new FOLKESSPA day spa which look gorgeous for a day out before coming back to the cottage for a cosy evening.
I am always happy to answer any questions please do reach out.
