Interesting facts:
1. Cumbria has more Michelin star restaurants than any other UK county.
2. We possibly have the longest marble run in Cumbria!
Guest access
The cottage and grounds are fully open for guests. Please try to stay on the path down to the lake.
Other things to note
Please only use portable BBQs and do not burn wood on the beach as this will only end up polluting the lake.
Unfortunately we do not allow fishing from the lakeside.
Occasionally RAF jets and historic aircraft fly across the length of lake Windermere.
There are 1 or 2 low wooden beams as you'd expect in an 18th century cottage so please do mind your head.
We’re sorry but we’re unable to accommodate pets, animals, events and parties. We try to welcome everyone but due to the landscape and the age of the property, disabled access is unfortunately limited, however please contact us for further details.
We use a modern waste treatment tank so please do not put any food or other waste into any sinks and toilets. Eco products are provided.
Tower Wood is a very beautiful, peaceful environment and we welcome you in helping us retain this. Thank you.
