Your questions answered
Who is required to follow the new safety and cleaning guidelines?
All Hosts are required to follow our COVID-19 safety and cleaning practices. Learn more about Airbnb Enhanced Clean. When required by local laws or guidelines, all Hosts and guests must also wear a mask or face covering when interacting in person and maintain a distance of 6 feet (2 metres) from each other. And, of course, we recommend not hosting or travelling if you’ve been exposed to or are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. Review our health and safety requirements for stays. You can always contact a Host with specific questions about their health and safety practices in the Airbnb app.
What COVID-19 policies have been created for Airbnb Experiences?
Airbnb Experiences have reopened in countries where relevant government rules allow. Guests and Hosts are expected to follow specific safety practices for in-person Experiences, including social distancing and mask wearing when required by local laws or guidelines. And, of course, stay at home if you have been exposed to COVID-19 or are feeling ill. Learn more about our Experiences health and safety guidelines. If you’d rather do the Experience with only your group, you can consider a private booking. If you feel uncomfortable gathering in groups or if in-person Experiences have not yet reopened in your market, check out our Online Experiences.
How do I change or cancel an existing reservation?
If you need to change or cancel your reservation, visit the Trips section of Airbnb's website or app for more details about your current cancellation options. We have created this resource to help guests navigate cancellation processes and policies. In addition, guests who can’t travel because they are sick with COVID-19 may be eligible to cancel their booking for a full refund by contacting customer support. Learn more about our extenuating circumstances policy.
What kind of flexible booking options are available on Airbnb?
Cancellation policies are set by Hosts and vary between listings. You can find details about the cancellation policy of each place to stay on the main page of each listing. We’ve added a new search filter to make it easier for you to find places with flexible cancellation policies. Learn more about the new filter.
