A cozy cottage for 2p (max approx 4p), at 5 min. walking distance from the center of the village of São Luis and only 15km. from the coastal town of V.N. de Milfontes. Equipped with all the comforts you need for a quiet, relaxing vacation. Included are bed, bath and kitchen linen, use of washing machine, our swimming pool and the use of fiber optic WiFi.
Pets (max. 2) allowed. Our cottage is located directly on one of the beautiful hiking trails of the Rota Vicentina.
The space
Our guesthouse (35m²) consists of a livingroom with a small kitchen (with refrigerator, gas-cooker, coffeemaker and microwave-oven), one bedroom (with a double bed 1.40 x 2.00) and a bathroom with toilet, wash-stand, shower and washingmachine. There is a TV with portuguese channels.
The livingroom also holds a diningtable with chairs, a sitetable and a sleeping-couch (suitable for two people). A child's cot is available if necessary. For wintertime there is the possibility to use a gas-stove (extra costs for the gas will be charged).
The cottage has its own entrance and is fenced all around. In front of the cottage is a large terras (4 x 7m) of which half is covered. The view is over our land (0,8ha), chickencot and swimmingpool (4,5 x 7m). Free use of good Wifi (fiberglass).
Since our guesthouse is located just out of town on a small dustroad, you need to consider a somewhat poor pavement (ca. 200m), some overhanging branches of bushes, a little more dust and some more small crawling creatures (like tiny ants, little spiders/webs, geckos etc.) than usual...
Pets are welcome (max. 2), but be aware that we have a.o. 3 dogs, 6 cats, chicken and a rooster of our own.
Use of the pool is included, but at your own risk. Also, you must cross our part of the property and thus pass our dogs, to get to the pool (which is not a problem for our dogs).
The little village São Luís is located in the Providence Baixo Alentejo between Cercal and Odemira on the N120-road Lisbon-Algarve, about a 2 hours drive from the airport of Lisbon as well as the airport of Faro and only 15km. away from the coast and beaches.
Our house is located at the edge of the town and is very easy to reach.
Between São Luís and the coast lies the beautiful nature reserve Parque Natural Sudoest Alentejano Costa Vicentina, a perfect place for quiet nature-walks. São Luís (and our house) is actually located directly on one of the beautiful walkingtrails 'Historical Way' of the Rota Vicentina, going from Cercal to Odemira. The nearest beach-town is Vila Nova de Milfontes (15km), mainly occupied with portuguese tourists, where you can find lots of lovely restaurants and shops. It has only some hotels and campsites. Here the river Mira, the cleanest river of Europe, ends in the Atlantic Ocean. Here you'll find beautiful beaches, on the river-shore as well as on the Ocean-shore.
Perfect environment for those who enjoy hiking, horseback riding, surfing, etc. or just want to enjoy the peace and quiet for a relaxing vacation.
Guest access
Pets (max. 2) are welcome, but we also have 3 dogs (see photo) and 6 cats walking around . Two of our cats are around the cottage almost continuously. walking around (see picture). The stay includes use of our swimming pool (at your own risk), but please note that the pool is in front of our house, so it would be nice if you have no fear of dogs, as you will have to enter our part of the site (which is no problem for our dogs). Outside ourselves you do not have to share the pool with anyone else.
Next to the small bedroom with double bed (140x200) there is a double sofa bed in the living room, but we also have a small tent (2p.), incl. mattress and bed linen, for rent (only in combination with the cottage). Our guesthouse is separated from our terrain by a fence, so our dogs cannot come directly to you.
Other things to note
Smoking is allowed, but preferably not inside and certainly not in the bedroom. Pets (max. 2) are welcome, but not on the bed or couch and are not allowed to swim in the swimming pool. We also request that you do not leave your pet(s) alone in the cottage unless otherwise agreed.
You have to take into account that the road surface is a little worse (for about 200m) then normal, with some overhanging branches of shrubs. You will also experience some more dust and small vermin (ants, spiders, webs, geckos, etc.)...
Gas, electricity and water are included in the price. Gas for the gas stove, during the winter months, will be charged extra (25€ p.w.).
