St Catherine's View at Chale Bay Farm is a quiet and comfortable two-bedroom/two-bathroom self-catering apartment.
The air-conditioned living area features a contemporary open-plan, fully-equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer with dining and lounge space, smart TV, Blu-Ray and WiFi.
Sleeps up to 4 (or 5 with rollaway-bed or cot) but you can add more space by booking our stand-alone room Tennyson View or one or more of our other main apartments.
The space
Arriving, you have ample choice of free parking in our landscaped gravel car park before entering your apartment via its private front door from our courtyard with peaceful illuminated water garden and pond.
The living area features a contemporary open-plan, fully-equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and combined washing machine/tumble dryer and adjacent dining and lounge space.
The lounge area is air-conditioned and features two comfortable sofas, a coffee table and a 49" HD satellite/internet connected TV which has hundreds of Freesat channels and using the Smart TV features you can also use catchup-services such as BBC iPlayer and use streaming services including YouTube, Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Paramount+ and Apple TV (your own account(s) required). A Blu-ray player is also provided and DVD and Blu-ray discs are available in a library housed in the Gym. There is even a handy remote HDMI and USB socket to make it easy to connect your own devices to the TV.
The air-conditioned main bedroom features a super king size double bed with Egyptian cotton bedding, sofa, dressing table and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space with ensuite shower room with large walk-in shower*, heated towel rail and hair dryer. There is also a normal hairdryer in a dressing table drawer. The bedroom also features a 40" HD Satellite TV, blu-ray player and modern digital alarm clock with phone charging facilities. There is also a hotel-style room safe.
The second bedroom has two full size single beds, TV, blu-ray player, wardrobe and dressing table with the bathroom just across the hallway that includes a full size bath with powerful shower.
Outside, via huge bi-fold opening doors, you have your own personal south-easterly facing patio with large picnic table and steps up to the lawns and lovely views up to St Catherine's Down and the historical "Pepperpot". Walking around the property you have access to the shared lawns and from spring through autumn the paddock including box of lawn games including croquet, cricket and frisbee, as well as balls of all shapes and sizes.
There is free Internet connectivity provided via high performance WiFi access available throughout the entire property.
For additional security there is also a safe in each bedroom which is large enough to accommodate most laptops.
*walk-in shower accessibility note: there is a 16cm (6 inch) step up into the walk in shower. A shower stool is available as well as our other mobility aids.
Guest access
This apartment is one of four and you have full access to ample parking, personal patio with stunning views, the shared courtyard/water-garden with pond and seating, gym, sauna and lawns and from spring through autumn the paddock including box of lawn games including croquet, cricket and frisbee, as well as balls of all shapes and sizes.
Other things to note
When you book with us we can usually provide discount links that typically give 25% discount on your ferry crossing with a vehicle and up to 6 people to the the Isle of Wight.
Some Amenities, notably for toddlers/babies, such as travel cot if required should be requested ahead of the stay as they are not stored in the apartment.
This apartment can accommodate a fifth guest on a "rollaway bed", in either bedroom making the fifth place ideally suited to a child rather than an adult. Bedroom floorspace, especially if used in bedroom 2, is limited when the rollaway bed is in use.
Note this apartment has lovely views up to St Catherine's Down but does not itself have sea views (other than from shared areas of the grounds). For sea views, look for our Purbeck View, Needles View and Tennyson View apartments.
