The space
NB The map does not allow me to show the exact position of the lane next to the river, so it is listed on Fore Street.

Lerryn village is situated upstream from Fowey town and harbour.

Kick back and relax in this peaceful and comfortable cottage, with incredible river views from the lounge, master bedroom and balcony.

Well-appointed and comfortable, with thoughtful touches and simple decor.

Good-sized lounge with 2 new deep seated double sofas, TV and doors it on to the newly added glass balcony. The balcony makes a fantastic area to relax and enjoy the wonderful views.

The spacious and newly fitted kitchen is well-equipped with new electric hob, oven, microwave, fridge & freezer appliances. Large dining table & chairs.

The Main Bedroom has a king-sized bed with dual aspect windows views over and down the river. So quiet you hear the owls at night.

The Twin Bedroom to the rear of the cottage has 2 single beds. The window looks out over the little lane and pub garden.

The Bathroom has an enamel bath with an electric shower over, underfloor heating and a shaving point, toilet and basin.

Electric heating as there is no mains gas in the village (hence no carbon monoxide alarm).

The village pub serves excellent food throughout the year. The village store & post office stocks local produce, fresh bread, essentials and of course, Cornish pasties and ice cream.

Guest access
Steep steps with handrail to the riverside entrance to the property but easy access to the rear of the cottage for the less able.

Neighbourhood highlights

Lovely Lerryn is an idyllic all-year-round setting, a beautiful unspoilt hidden gem of Cornwall.

You will have exceptional river views and be in an "area of outstanding natural beauty".

The views from Cobble Cottage and the tranquillity make this a magical place to stay. It is beautiful. Kenneth Grahame was inspired to write "Wind in the Willows" when he visited. When you wake, you will see the place's charms; it certainly wasn't lost on Mole, Ratty, Toad or Badger.

Dinghy, Kayak & Paddle-board launching facilities are accessible, adjacent to Cobble Cottage, so messing about on the river is on your doorstep!

Lerryn Creek is Tidal - the road to the riverside floods on high tides, and the water can come up to the garden gate.

There are so many things to describe this wonderful place. Still, if you choose to venture out, you have all of Cornwall to explore and nothing more than an hour's drive (or so, depending on how you like to get about).

Poldark was filmed at nearby St.Winnow, Charlestown and Bodmin.
Daphne du Maurier, the renowned author, lived nearby Fowey and was inspired by the surrouding coastline, countryside and moors. Her novels include Rebbecca and Jamacia Inn.
