This 17th Century cobbler’s cottage on Horsmonden’s picturesque village green has a unique history. In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this grade II-listed cottage is just 200m from stunning country walks through orchards and hop gardens. Opposite village pub and shop. Perfect for entertaining, with three floors, two living spaces, separate dining room and private garden. Close to world-famous Sissinghurst and Scotney Castles, Bedgebury Pinetum and Bewl Water and dog friendly.

The space
A cottage with centuries of history – filled with beams, an inglenook fireplace and reminders of its former life as the village cobbler's shop.

This cosy cottage sleeps up to 10 people, with 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (ground floor shower room and 1st floor with bath) and a separate washroom.
The kitchen and shower-room are brand new for Summer 2023.

**Please note
The attic rooms are not suitable for people with mobility problems, due to the steep stairs and low sloping ceiling.

The large 22-feet living room has 2 sofas and 2 arm chairs, a wood burner and TV. This room has views of the 1.5 acre village green - the heart of this quintessentially Kentish village.

There is snug with TV, which is great for kids who wish to play games or guests who want to watch something different. This room has a single sofa bed if needed.

The large range oven with powerful induction hob is great for cooking a feast – and the 7’5” table in the conservatory dining room is a perfect space for all 10 guests to eat together.

There is parking for one car in the driveway and plenty of free on-road parking available behind the property.

Bath towels
Hand towels in the bathrooms/toilet
Tea towel
Hand soap in the bathrooms/toilet and toilet rolls.

Kitchen: washing up liquid, hand soap, cloth, scrubbing brush. Dishwasher tablets and washing machine tablets. Cooking basics include: salt, pepper, olive oil, instant coffee, ground coffee, sugar and tea bags.
Cleaning products.

Infants:
We have a travel cot with mattress and and high chair available.
Please let us know if you need the travel cot made up. Only rooms suitable for this is the Main bedroom or the Single room.

Guest access
Access is via lane sweeps around the village green, the cottage has its own driveway for one car and space behind the property for additional cars.

Other things to note
Horsmonden is the perfect location to explore the Kent and Sussex countryside. The spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is a 20-minute drive and it’s only 40-minutes to the South Coast, whether that is the town of Hastings, the beaches at Camber Sands or the medieval town of Rye.
