Want to take a dog book - The Stag Pod

The space
Escape to a luxury glamping pod in the Scottish Highlands, thoughtfully designed for couples seeking a peaceful, private retreat. Overlooking the riding arena with stunning countryside views, this romantic hideaway combines modern comfort with breathtaking natural surroundings.

Wake to the sounds of nature and step straight outside onto your private decking area, where panoramic views and fresh Highland air set the tone for a truly relaxing stay.

Spend unhurried mornings watching our mini Shetland ponies, Hakki and Victor, grazing nearby, along with sheep and spring lambs. You may also catch a glimpse of horses exercising in the arena, while red kites soar overhead, deer wander through the fields, and pheasants potter close by — a truly immersive Highland wildlife experience.

As evening falls, the experience becomes even more magical. Imagine slow, indulgent evenings sharing homemade pizza followed by local artisan ice cream, wrapped in a blanket as you watch the Northern Lights dance across crisp autumn skies. In the warmer months, fire up the BBQ with produce from our excellent local butcher and savour long, golden evenings as daylight lingers.

Each pod is equipped with a Ninja Electric BBQ and Ninja Pizza Oven, perfect for relaxed outdoor dining and memorable evenings under the open sky.

Just a short 10-minute drive away, Beauly is ideal for picking up local produce, wine, and artisan treats — perfect for relaxed evenings unwinding on your private decking. Inverness is also just a scenic 20-minute drive away.

For golf lovers, you’re perfectly located to enjoy some of Scotland’s most renowned courses, including Royal Dornoch, Nairn and Cabot, as well as Fortrose & Rosemarkie, the King’s Course and Muir of Ord — all within easy reach without changing accommodation.

Inside, the open-plan space has been carefully designed to maximise both comfort and style.

The fully equipped kitchen includes a combi microwave oven and grill, dishwasher, refrigerator with small freezer compartment, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, cookware, and all essential crockery, utensils, and dinnerware — everything you need for effortless dining.

Unwind in the electric reclining leather sofa, perfect for cosy nights in after a day exploring.

The sleeping area features a king-size bed with luxurious White Company linens, USB charging points, soft ambient lighting, and blackout blinds to ensure a restful night’s sleep. A dressing table, drawers, and hanging space provide smart, practical storage.

The modern bathroom offers a spacious walk-in shower with both rainfall and handheld fittings set on an anti-slip tray. A sleek vanity unit with drawer storage, illuminated mirror with electric shaving point, heated towel rail, and soft PIR lighting complete the space. Fresh towels are provided for a hotel-quality finish.

Step outside and fully embrace the surroundings. Your private decked area is designed for relaxing, dining, and soaking up the views — whether that’s morning coffee, afternoon sun, or evening drinks under the stars.

Tucked away for privacy, the pod is accessed via a short, steep walk from the parking area below, adding to its sense of seclusion and elevated views. A reasonable level of fitness is required, although many guests of all ages manage it comfortably, often with a well-earned pause at the top.

We welcome guests travelling by car, bike, or motorbike, with a large, safe parking area located at the bottom of the hill.

As this is our first season and part of a large-scale luxury glamping project, landscaping around the pods is still being completed. While the pods themselves are fully finished and ready to enjoy, some surrounding areas may feel less established as we continue to develop the site.

We’re also awaiting bespoke artwork from local photographers, which will soon be added to further enhance the space.

We believe in being open and transparent so guests know what to expect, and we’re excited to see the site evolve into a fully landscaped luxury glamping retreat.

Guest access
Guests will enjoy full private access to the pod and its decked outdoor space, offering a peaceful and secluded area to relax and take in the Highland views.

We kindly ask guests to respect any fenced or marked areas around the croft and not to enter fields where animals are kept. This helps keep both guests and animals safe and protects the working environment of the croft.

You’re very welcome to enjoy the surroundings—just please do so with care and respect for the land and wildlife.

Other things to note
The Coo Pod is not Pet friendly. Please book The Stag Pod if you want a dog friendly pod. As both our pods are located on a working croft in a rural Highland setting, you may encounter livestock, wildlife, and natural surroundings during your stay.

We ask guests to be mindful and respectful of the environment at all times.

Access to the pods is on foot from the designated parking area, and while the setting is peaceful and secluded, this may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.

As this is our first season, some landscaping around the pods is still being completed. The pods themselves are fully finished and ready to enjoy, but the surrounding areas may continue to develop over time.

Due to the remote location, mobile signal can vary, although this also makes it the perfect place to switch off and enjoy the tranquillity of the Highlands.

Finally, as with many countryside locations, you may experience uneven ground, changing weather, and natural sounds all part of the authentic Highland experience.
