Gatehouse West on the Colmer country estate is a warm, cosy and tastefully decorated cottage. It overlooks the outdoor swimming pool as well as enjoying its own south facing garden with patio and small lawn. The cottage is perfect for couples or families wanting a peaceful stay in a beautiful location.

The space
Our stone built cottage is set in 28 acres of private grounds that include an outdoor heated swimming pool and a heated indoor pool. There is also a tennis court, walled garden and a games room for the children.
The Colmer Estate is beautifully peaceful with woodland, meadows and a lake. There are sheep grazing in the meadows and deer are often spotted in the woods. It is a haven for the birds and wildlife.
The large communal outdoor pool is heated from the end of May to the end of August and the small heated indoor pool is open all year round. As well as the woods, sheep and pasture there is a lovely walled garden giving children a safe place to play. It is also a peaceful and sheltered spot to read and relax. Colmer is centrally situated in the heart of the South Hams, an area of outstanding natural beauty and within easy reach of attractive towns such as Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Modbury. Beautiful beaches, coves and gorgeous coastal walks are within 20 minutes drive and Dartmoor National Park renowned for its wild beauty, granite tors and moorland ponies is just 8 miles away. This is a wonderful holiday destination with lovely facilities on the doorstep and many places within the extensive grounds of this lovely location for those seeking peace and tranquility. Other benefits include having The California Inn pub serving food a 10 minute walk away down the road and there is also the local Spar selling all essential items and gourmet ready meals! Overall, Gatehouse West and the Colmer Estate is a peaceful, special place for both families and couples with plenty to explore on the doorstep.
