Tucked away in an olive grove, this special stone house looks over the turquoise waters of the northern Aegean. Unspoilt landscapes, spectacular beaches and the traditional village of Bademli are nearby to explore.
Being here is all about relaxing and slowing down with family and friends - waking up to birds chirping, seeing the changing colours of the sea and sky through the day and having a drink on the terrace for sunset.
The space
Indoors
The house is split into separate apartments on two levels.
The upper level contains a cozy and modern living, kitchen, dining space opening onto the veranda, a large double bedroom and bathroom. And the lower level includes a smaller living space with kitchenette, a large double bedroom, twin bedroom, and bathroom.
There is not AC in the house. We have a ceiling fan in every room and for us these are sufficient for cooling down the spaces in the hot summer.
Outdoors
There are many different outdoor spaces to enjoy and use throughout the day depending if you want sun or shade. The land has 17 olive trees, some over a century old, many birds, and a few friendly cats.
The upper level veranda is the life of the house, and has a long table and lounge chairs to enjoy the views to the sea and stunning sunsets. Coffee, brunch, naps, cocktails, and long dinners happen here. An additional terrace with a small table and chairs looks the other way towards the olive tree filled mountain, taking in the morning sun.
A stone path lined with flowers connects the two levels. The lower level provides a secluded respite from the sun, with pine trees providing dappled shade over another table.
Local area
In the nearby village of Bademli you can find everything you need: groceries, bakery, çay and coffee, restaurants, and a fruit and veg stand with local produce. A well known fish restaurant, Sunay, is right by the house.
There are many beaches nearby for swimming - Pisa beach, Fame beach club, Barcelona beach club, Bademli bay.
Further afield for day trips there is: for some history the ancient Acropolis of Pergamon, cooler air Kozak mountains, and along the sea the island of Cunda and coastal town of Foça are full of shops, restaurants and bars.
