Neighbourhood highlights

The farmhouse location is ideal for getting to the beach, Norwich city and the Norfolk Broads.

Weston Longville's Parson Woodforde Pub is a short stroll down the road.

The Royal Norwich Golf Club is across the road (main entrance is around the corner) - as well as golf it has a restaurant, bars and a micro brewery. Ten million pounds has recently been spent refurbishing the golf course - which is set in 350 acres of pristine parkland at the Weston Estate - making it one Norfolk's premier clubs.

Lenwade is 5 minutes away and has fishing lakes, a butcher, bakery, petrol station, pub, lakes, hairdresser, newsagent/shop, restaurant and cafe.

Norfolk's top tourist attraction, Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure, is located next to the Royal Norwich Golf Club, very near the farmhouse. Great for at least one day out with the children and it has entertainment no matter what the weather. It's set in a large leafy park so adults tell us they really enjoy walking the dinosaur trail too. See below for more info about the the really popular Halloween themed scare nights (for children and adults) if you're planning to stay around Halloween.

It's difficult to avoid Norfolk's beautiful open skies... walk in and around Weston Longville and explore the equally pretty villages of Lyng, Ringland, Reepham and Holt nearby. Like Weston they all have great pubs!

The farmhouse is situated in the Wensum Valley a few hundred metres from the pretty Walsingham Way - a 37 mile sign posted walking path - inspired by a network of ancient pilgrimage routes from Norwich to North Norfolk. Though the surrounding fields are private you are welcome to enjoy the two acre post and rail field directly behind the farmhouse. It has trees and seating scattered throughout as well as an additional picnic table and chairs you can use at your leisure.

Norwich has very good shopping. Arguably the best in the East of England with a medieval market in the heart of the city and spacious covered malls.

Go to the coast and beaches or the Norfolk Broads for swimming, boating, fishing... more walks and good food! Bring your bikes if you'd like to cycle to Norwich, Reepham or Aylsham along Marriot's Way (former rail track, now a beautiful walk/cycleway see information below). There is also the Taverham Mill Water Park nearby. Perfect for walking or fishing (dogs permitted on a lead). Full details of many more local attractions are available in the farm house.

From the farmhouse there is easy access to the A47 (London) and 1067 (Norwich, the Broads & coast). Pets considered (fees apply), please contact us to discuss.

Further Information's in the farm house but here's a tad more about attractions nearby:

What is Marriott’s Way?
Marriott’s Way is a 26 mile footpath, bridleway and cycle route, which follows the routes of two disused railway lines, and runs between the historic market town of Aylsham and the medieval city of Norwich.

Who can use Marriott’s Way?
Marriott’s Way has something for everyone, from families and casual walkers to ramblers, joggers, cyclists and horse-riders. For those less mobile who use wheelchairs or mobility vehicles, there are suitable surfaces along much of its length. For cyclists and dog walkers, it is one of the best resources in Norfolk due to its wide, flat paths. It is available for use all year round and has many useful links to the public rights of way network.

What will I find and see?
Wonderful countryside, wildlife, public art, and a wealth of local history. Marriott’s Way itself is a county wildlife site and passes through many interesting landscapes and wildlife-rich habitats, such as the Wensum river valley and Whitwell Common. You may see a variety of birds, animals and plants, including kestrels, owls, hares, deer, butterflies, primroses and orchids. If you’re very quiet and with a bit of luck, you may even see otters or kingfishers!

Taverham Mill:
A 100-acre picturesque Norfolk nature reserve. With four lakes and situated by an old weir and mill pool on the River Wensum. Taverham Mill is a haven for anglers, walkers and nature lovers.

An anglers’ paradise - you can fish for carp, tench, roach, perch and pike as well as stock up on tackle at the on-site store. Dogs welcome.

Halloween Entertainment: If you enjoy being scared witless, Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure puts the dinos aside to hold primEVIL - every night for three weeks - over the Halloween period. You can buy tickets to see attractions like The Circus of Terror and the Forest of Fear. Mainly teenagers and adults buy tickets to attend... there are some over 18's only nights too. They're called PrimEvil Extreme (and they are) - you have been warned.
Visit if you dare!
