The space
With a south-facing balcony, open-plan layout and high ceilings the apartment feels really light, and is incredibly spacious at 70 square metres. Considering the central location, it’s a surprise to find that it’s in a tranquil setting, facing away from the street and not overlooked by any other buildings. The apartment is kept to a high standard, retaining its local rustic charm but with all the conveniences of a modern home.
Guest access
Le Refuge easily sleeps 4 to 6 people with two spacious double rooms and a full-size double sofa-bed in the living area. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and can either be prepared as twins, or zipped together to form a king and super-king. All linen and towels are included in the price. The main bedroom has a door onto the south-facing balcony. For those with young children there’s plenty of space in both rooms for a cot.
The living area has high ceilings exposing the original beams, and is centred around a beautiful, teak table which can seat eight for dinner. To one side is a desk; the other is a cosy living area with a large, leather, corner sofa to relax on after a days’ activities. For entertainment there’s a flat-screen TV, Apple TV, BluRay DVD player, sound system, free wifi internet and a selection of board games. The whole open-plan space spills out onto the balcony where you can sit and enjoy the sun and fabulous views of Mont Blanc.
The large kitchen extends off the living area and has a work-surface island facing into the room, keeping the kitchen sociable. It’s fully kitted with an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and high-quality kitchenware.
The bathroom features an elegant, tiled design and large, powerful, walk-in shower. The hall is well thought out, with a shoe rack, a large cupboard with electric boot-heaters for drying ski and walking boots, and ample space to hang out wet clothing. The toilet is separate.
The apartment has a private parking space in a secure garage underneath the building, a private ski locker, and lift access from the garage. There's also free public parking nearby.
Other things to note
Coronavirus cancellation policy:
If the Group need to cancel because their Government or the French Government has restricted travel due to the Coronavirus, the Owner will offer a full refund (minus a £30 administration fee). This includes situations where the Group are able to travel but required to quarantine either upon arrival or return. A full refund (minus a £30 administration fee) will also be offered by the Owner if the French Government has shut all infrastructure in Chamonix due to the Coronavirus (e.g. lift system, retail, hospitality). In these cases, the Owner must be notified by the Group Leader as soon as possible.
