Welcome to our family-friendly home in beautiful Brixham, in the heart of the English Riviera! It's a bright and colourful 3 bedroom terraced cottage in a quiet yet very central location just 4 minutes easy level walk from the historic Brixham harbour, with all its wonderful eateries, shops and coastal walks. There are 3 stunning coves and beaches within 15 mins walk, an outdoor pool, half a dozen more beaches within a 10 minute drive and beautiful Dartmouth just a short ferry hop away.
The space
The house is family friendly, comfortable, peaceful and quiet.
Downstairs there is an open plan living room and dining room, a kitchen with oven, induction hob, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer, toaster, kettle and moka pot for coffee. There is also a w/c toilet downstairs. The house has central heating controlled via a wireless thermostat. There is wifi, a smart TV and Amazon firestick.
On the first floor there is a bathroom with bathtub, toilet and electric shower, and two double bedrooms: the larger one has a double bed, the smaller one is a kids' room with two full size single beds. The whole of the second floor is taken up by the third bedroom which also has a double bed. This staircase is slightly narrow and head height is slightly restricted in the eaves. All the beds have super comfy casper memory foam mattresses.
Outside is a sunny private courtyard garden on two levels where you can sit and enjoy a morning coffee.
Parking on the street outside is for residents only, I will supply you with complimentary day visitor permits so that you can park here (see additional information).
Guest access
You will have exclusive access to the whole house.
There are 5 steps up to the front door.
We do not have any baby equipment such as high chairs or stair gates so please bring these with you if required.
Other things to note
Please note this is our much loved and regularly used second home, so it will be clean and tidy but it is not an immaculate self-catering business run for profit like many of the houses on this platform. On the other hand there will be plenty of kids books and games at your disposal and we will do our very best to accommodate any requests you may have!
Unfortunately two of us are severely allergic to cats, so we are unable to host any guests who have recently lived with or worked with cats as the allergens travel on clothes and luggage and hang around for a surprisingly long time. Well-behaved dogs and their owners are welcome!
There is residents' parking on our street Glenmore Road, to park here you will need to put day visitor permits in your windscreen one per day (I will provide these free of charge), but you can put them all in your windscreen at once so you don't need to keep changing them, just remember to fill in the correct dates / car reg on each one. It's usually no trouble finding a space free during the day but it can get a little busy after 5pm, in which case you can park on the road behind the house (Parkham Road, on a slight hill) which nearly always has spaces free. Parking on Parkham is free 6pm-8am, during any other hours you will need to use visitor day permits.
**Please: no smokers, no cat-owners, no parties, quiet hours 23.00-07.00. Many thanks**
