The space
Mainstay is a 3-bedroom home nestled in the heart of popular Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Just a short stroll from the marina, cafés, boutique shops, and sailing hubs, it’s the perfect base for families, friends, or visiting crews to live like a local while exploring the island!
Kitchen & Living Areas:
The bright, fully equipped kitchen and dining room is made for cooking at home or gathering over coffee before heading out. Share meals at the large dining table, then unwind in the lounge with comfy sofas, a TV, log burner and space for board games, reading, or relaxed evenings together. From the kitchen there is also a small utility room, perfect for the washing that quickly piles up for young families!
Bedrooms & Bathrooms:
Sleep soundly in three comfortable bedrooms:
• Bedroom 1: King bed
• Bedroom 2: King bed (can be split to twin beds on request)
• Bedroom 3: Single bed
A travel cot is available for infants under 2 at no extra cost.
Bathrooms:
A family bathroom (with shower over bath) serves the bedrooms upstairs and there is a further WC downstairs.
Outdoor Space:
Step outside to a private enclosed garden with an attractive decked area, perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks.
Location:
Mainstay is perfectly placed for discovering Cowes’ sailing heritage, boutique shops, and coastal cafés. Venture further for scenic walks along Gurnard, East Cowes, and nearby beaches, exploring the Isle of Wight’s iconic coastline at your leisure.
Parking & Practicalities:
2 hour parking is available outside the property, for longer stay parking there is a council carpark just a moments walk away. A daily or weekly tourist permit can be purchased for this and then used at multiple locations across the Island. Easily reachable from both foot and car ferries.
Guest Access & Interaction:
Guests have full use of the home. Check-in details and a local guide will be provided before arrival. Nicola is available via phone or app throughout your stay.
House Rules:
• No parties or events.
• Quiet hours: 11pm–7am.
• Please leave the property tidy; extra cleaning may incur charges.
Accessibility:
All bedrooms are on the first floor; the property may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
Pets:
Please note this property does not allow pets
Guest access
All areas of the house are accessible to guests, except the loft and the garden shed.
Other things to note
Although there is no allocated parking space with the property, it is possible to park for 2 hours for free on the street between the hours of 0800-1800. Thereafter, you can park from 1800-0800.
There is a pay and display car park 2 mins from the house, visitors can buy a tourist parking permit which entitles you to park in all the council car parks island wide - highly recommended.
Tourist permits are available to purchase by PayByPhone. The permit is a virtual permit and as such there is no need to display a permit inside your vehicle.
Tourist permits cannot be purchased in advance.
FERRYS:
We are able to provide up to a 35% discount with Wightlink and between a 15-20% discount with Red Funnel. We ask that guests contact us once their booking is secured, stating which ferry service they wish to use.
Quiet hours:
Guest must note that quiet hours are in place 11pm-7am out of courtesy for our lovely neighbours.
Cleaning and Consideration:
We kindly ask that guests leave the property in the condition they would hope to find it. This is a much-loved home, not just a holiday rental. Any extra cleaning or excessive rubbish removal may incur additional charges, so we really appreciate your care and consideration. We ask that both the BBQ and Log Burner are returned to a clean condition if used. Failure to do so may incur additional cleaning charges.
Guests with Limited Mobility:
Due to the bedrooms being located on the 1st floor, Mainstay may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
