Room in a home

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
A remote Yorkshire Dales farmhouse high on the moors on the foothills of Pen-y-ghent, with views across to Whernside and the Ribblehead Viaduct from the front gate.

There are walking and cycle trails on the doorstep, including the Pennine Way/Bridleway and Yorkshire 3 Peaks. This is a dark skies area, perfect for star gazing.

We are surrounded by a working farm, so the sheep are our only close neighbours. The perfect tranquil hideaway - no distractions except for stunning views!

The space
One of two, newly renovated, large and comfortable guest rooms offering a peaceful retreat in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. This beautifully designed double room is decorated with a carefully chosen colour palette to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.

The standard double bed has a brand new mattress and fresh bed linen for a restful night's sleep.

The spacious bathroom with bath and shower is shared with the second guest room only. Fluffy towels, shower/bath gel and shampoo are provided for guests.

(Please see separate listing should you wish to book both rooms).

Guest access
There is a large dining room that guests may use at any time, with a number of games and books that may be borrowed.

You have use of the well-equipped kitchen, with well-stocked cupboard of herbs, spices, oil and seasonings.

There are amazing views from the front garden and patio, which guests are welcome to make use of. There is a barbeque area and you are free to explore the rest of the currently somewhat wild garden!

During your stay
I am generally available during your stay so please just ask if you need anything.

Other things to note
Reggie is the resident very friendly cocker spaniel who loves people, treats and chest rubs. Sadly, this means dogs other than service dogs cannot be accommodated.

Starlink broadband provides super-fast WiFi throughout all areas of the house. There is no mobile signal so I can withhold the WiFi code if you want to completely disconnect!

The house is fed by spring water.

As the bathroom and toilet are upstairs, unfortunately the house is not suitable for those with limited mobility.

There are no shops, pubs or any other facilities nearby - nearest pub is in Horton in Ribblesdale village, shopping, medical facilities and other amenities are available in Settle.

I’m happy to spend time with my guests or give them space
I have a background in contemporary art and currently live in the Yorkshire Dales. I love exploring and have travelled widely across the world for work and pleasure. I lived in the Middle East for a few years and was able to explore much of the region. I love learning about people I meet and the many different kinds of places people call home. I have a good sense of humour, am pretty sociable but like and respect privacy too.
