Welcome to Ol Gaboli, a fully-catered boutique safari lodge by the Ewaso Nyiro river in Laikipia, owned by the community that conserves the land around us.
Our en-suite bandas meander with the river, offering privacy and spectacular views, with private terraces and fast wifi. Your rate includes meals, and the hospitality of our lodge team - from the chefs to the guides and rangers!
The space
Ol Gaboli has been around for two decades, but since June 2025 is now managed jointly between the community and new partners. The lodge has been widely renovated in keeping with a relaxed, bare-foot luxury, feel.
Arrive at our central banda where you can relax and watch the river flow beside you, or during drier periods, witness it being used as a wildlife corridor. Ol Gaboli is in the heart of Laikipia, with elephants, giraffe and the larger cats all around. If you're lucky you may spot wild dogs below the camp.
Your stay at Ol Gaboli is hosted, which means one of our friendly lodge hosts will look after you and guide the team in making sure you have an excellent stay. They'll host you for drinks and meals in the central banda. Our fantastic fresh food will be served for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is included in the rate. We will contact you prior to arrival to understand your dietary requirements.
Further downstream are our five rooms (bandas). Each has it's own area, allowing you to enjoy the peace and privacy that our remote location is fantastic at. All rooms have an ensuite with luxury toiletries from Cinnabar Green, and fast internet provided by Starlink. The bandas have the option to add additional beds by converting day beds, simply let us know in your booking request. Each banda has its own veranda where you'll be served morning coffee, or your evening meal if you desire.
Ol Gaboli is situated by a number of reserves and our rangers and guides will arrange your safari experience based on the conditions when you visit. Make sure to let us know of any special requests. Our rates include guided safari walks, and guided driven safaris.
We can also arrange transfers to and from the lodge.

Ol Gaboli is a safari lodge, there is a central Banda where guests eat, relax and get to know each other. Our rooms are all private and en-suite.

It’s tricky to set per person per night rates, and whilst we’ve done our best on the listing, please see below for our up to date rates
Adult: $400 pppn + AirBnB Fees
Child: $245 pppn + AirBnB Fees
These rates are inclusive of room rate, conservancy fees and private vehicle hire.
For drives into the 'black leopard area' there is a special conservancy fee $75 USD pp. Please note that this is a purely optional activity, and the rates shared above still provides access to over 48,000 acres of prime safari country! Please contact us if you want to find out more about the black leopard access costs.
The only 'other' costs are drinks for the bar (very well priced) and tips (suggested 10-20 USD pppn).

While Ol Gaboli is protected by an electric fence, you should be aware we are in an area with wild animals. Rooms have open sides, allowing you to take in the magic of the area.
