Other things to note
-FERRY DISCOUNTS: We are able to offer guests up to 35% discount on Wightlink ferries and between 15-25% with Red Funnel. Information regarding this will be sent to all booked guests once your stay in confirmed.

-The property is deceptively spacious once inside however guests should note that it is located through a private passageway between two shop premises, which may not be immediately obvious on arrival! At street level underneath the house, there is a lovely charity shop, open 6 days a week from 10.00-16.00. During the day Regent street is a pleasant hustle and bustle of shoppers, visiting a variety of shops and the bank next door. At night it is remarkably quiet for a property located in the heart of town.

-Please note that due to the central location, there is no designated parking for the property. There is ample space on the street to pull up for up to 30mins for the purpose of unloading/loading. Guests can then utilise the free on street parking on the surrounding roads. Access to public transport is excellent in this area with frequent bus and rail services.

-Guests with limited mobility must note that there are a number of steps throughout the property

-We kindly ask that guests leave the property in the condition they would hope to find it. This is a much-loved home, not just a holiday rental. Any extra cleaning or excessive rubbish removal may incur additional charges, so we really appreciate your care and consideration

Neighbourhood highlights

Shanklin has an abundance of shops, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants, all just a short distance from the property. The ‘Old Village’, which, as the name suggests, is the oldest part of the town, is a pleasure to explore with its pretty thatched buildings and quirky gift shops. The modern part of town boasts an arcade with crazy golf and an adventure trail at Jungle Jim’s. The beach is really popular with families and is the ideal place to sample some fresh sea food or an Isle of Wight cream tea! The surrounding cliff paths are excellent for gentle strolls or bike rides – the views of the bay are stunning.
There are numerous attractions across the island to discover for all ages, including The Needles, with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Visit Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, Ventnor Botanic Garden, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes. Whatever you decide, one thing’s for sure, the Isle of Wight has plenty to keep you occupied. Beach ½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 750 yards.

Hello, My name is Louise and I am of Dutch nationality. Like everybody else in the AirBnb community, I love to travel and go places. I am delighted I have been given the opportunity to open up my recently renovated Victorian townhouse in this popular seaside resort on the Isle of Wight. The house has had a major make over including new plumbing and boiler, electricity, plaster work and paintwork. In the process I discovered wonderful and original Victorian features and I am very proud to own this spacious and comfortable property. I have visited this lovely island for over 25 years and it feels like my second home! Whatever the season, it does not cease to surprise and charm me and I hope you experience it the same way. Enjoy your stay!
