Kitchen and Living areas:
The spacious kitchen is bright and welcoming, with access out to the garden. It features a log burner and is full equipped to ensure guests have everything they need for cooking at home. The adjoining dining room features a large table for meals and family gatherings. The lounge provides comfortable seating and a further log burner making it a lovely place to gather for evening reading, watching TV or playing boardgames.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms:
Rose Cottage has three lovely bedrooms, including one ensuite with a shower, plus an additional family bathroom with a shower over bath, providing comfort and privacy for all guests.
Bedroom Configuration:
Bedroom 1: Double bed with ensuite shower.
Bedroom 2: Double bed with shared family bathroom.
Bedroom 3: Double bed, also sharing the family bathroom.
A travel cot is also available for infants under 2 at no extra cost.
Garden:
Stepping outside from the kitchen, guests will find an extremely charming tiered garden, which captures the sun almost all day. This makes it perfect for morning coffee, evening drinks, or letting pets stretch their legs. The outdoor space allows guests to enjoy the tranquillity of the village setting, where the only sounds are bird song and church bells! The garden is fully fenced so is secure for pets. We do always ask however that guests never leave pets unattended in the garden due to the unfamiliar surroundings. Small children and guests with limited mobility should take care due to the tiered nature of the garden which includes steps from the initial courtyard.
Location:
Nestled in Shorwell, guests can enjoy countryside walks from the doorstep. The cottage is ideally positioned for day trips across the Isle of Wight, from coastal paths at Compton and Freshwater to beaches at Colwell Bay, Totland Bay, and the iconic Needles.
Parking:
Parking is available for up to two cars on-site. The cottage is easily accessible from Newport and other central points on the island.
A Note on Occupancy:
Rose Cottage comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests, plus an infant in a travel cot. We are delighted to be able to welcome 1 well behaved dog, so your four-legged family member can enjoy a break away too!
Guest access
We invite guests to use the whole property and grounds. We kindly ask that guests do not access the locked shed or owners cupboard.
Other things to note
To maintain the peaceful and family-friendly nature of Rose Cottage, our home is best suited for families and couples looking to enjoy a relaxing stay on the Island. Rose Cottage is a strictly no-parties, no-events property. This rule is in place to protect what is a much loved family home and out of respect for our neighbours.
DOGS:
We are delighted to be able to welcome 1 well behaved dog at Rose Cottage. We kindly ask that they refrain from going upstairs and remain in the hard floored areas downstairs. Please ensure that you pick up any mess in the garden promptly out of courtesy for future guests.
FERRYS:
We are able to provide up to a 35% discount with Wightlink and between a 15-20% discount with Red Funnel. We ask that guests contact us once their booking is secured, stating which ferry service they wish to use.
Quiet hours:
Guest must note that quiet hours are in place 11pm-7am out of courtesy for our lovely neighbours.
Cleaning and Consideration:
We kindly ask that guests leave the property in the condition they would hope to find it. This is a much-loved home, not just a holiday rental. Any extra cleaning or excessive rubbish removal may incur additional charges, so we really appreciate your care and consideration. We ask that both the BBQ and Log Burner are returned to a clean condition if used. Failure to do so may incur additional cleaning charges.
Guests with Limited Mobility:
Due to the bedrooms being located on the 1st floor, Rose Cottage may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
