The Observatory is a 4-bedroom family friendly coastal retreat in Seaview on the Isle of Wight. Families will love the cosy yet spacious interiors and open-plan living areas, while children can enjoy safe spaces to play and relax. The space
The Observatory is tucked away and accessed just off the village high street. Upon entering is a communal hallway shared by one other Maisonette.
Entering The Observatory you are first greeted by the fourth bedroom, perfect for children, housed with a set of bunk beds. Next to this room is a WC and just further up the winding Victorian staircase is the family bathroom. Small but perfectly formed with a shower over the bath. Sea views from the shower are a real treat!
At the top of the stairs is the kitchen, a light filled, well equipped space, perfect for preparing family meals.
A corridor then takes you to the Master and Second Bedroom. The Master bedroom is a truly tranquil retreat, dressed in calming tones and enjoying big sky and sea views. The second bedroom is a cheery yet cosy space with views across the pretty village.
At the end of the corridor is the lounge and dining area, a bright and airy space designed for relaxation and sociable gatherings. Floor-to-ceiling sash windows frame views of the Solent and a log burner keeps things cosy on cooler days. The lounge area is furnished with plenty of cosy seating, perfect for unwinding after a day by the sea.
Heading up a further set of steps (a little steeper this time!) leads to the third bedroom, a charming double room. Views out to sea can be enjoyed from the bench seating by the window. Guests must note that due to the lower head height, this room may be better suited to older children or teenagers.
Finally a ladder style set of steps takes you to the properties crowning jewel, The Observatory itself! Well worth the climb, the views from this room are breathtaking. Bifold doors open on all sides in warmer weather and a glass balcony shelters the roof top terrace from winds, making it a truly unique and memorable spot to soak up the sea air and enjoy the sun set.

Guests are welcome to use the entire property but we do ask that you are mindful of the neighbours who share the entryway to the building.
Other things to note
Due to the number of stairs this property is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.
The Observatory is a 4 bedroom Masionette occupying multiple floors within a unique Victorian property. Guests will have full privacy and exclusive use of the home but must note that there is a communal entryway shared by one other Masionette.
2 Hour parking is available immediately outside the property (unrestricted over winter) and there is a council car park adjacent to the building for convenience. It is possible to purchase a daily or weekly tourist permit for this which can then be used in council car parks across the Island. It is also possible to find free parking on the residential streets around the village, although this can be trickier in the peak summer months.
We are happy to welcome 1 well behaved dog at the property, please ensure you include them when making your booking.
We kindly ask that guests leave the property in the condition they would hope to find it. This is a much-loved home, not just a holiday rental. Any extra cleaning or excessive rubbish removal may incur additional charges, so we really appreciate your care and consideration.
