Tucked away in the heart of Matfield, one of Kent’s most picturesque villages, The WellHouse is a peaceful and stylish retreat for two, set within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
This quintessential English village, with its vast green, cricket pitch, duck pond and Georgian houses, butchers, The Star Pub and The Poet Restaurant feels wonderfully timeless, yet is just six miles from Royal Tunbridge Wells and under an hour by train to London.
The WellHouse is a beautifully designed annexe to a Grade II listed family home, with its own private entrance and secluded courtyard. Light-filled and airy, the weather-boarded building features high vaulted ceilings, exposed beams with charming round windows and views overlook the gardens.
Inside, you’ll find a thoughtfully fitted kitchen, a comfortable living space with Smart TV, a breakfast bar for relaxed dining or working, and a restful double bedroom beneath the eaves. A stylish shower room with rainfall shower and a separate WC complete the space.
Outside, the private courtyard is perfect for slow mornings with coffee, alfresco meals at the bistro table, or unwinding on loungers in the summer months. You have access to a private courtyard outside the Wellhouse.
There is a parking space on the owners drive (in front of the gate to the Wellhouse, this is for unloading bags/bikes etc only.
The owners ask that you park opposite on the village green which has ample free parking.
Other things to note
The Annexe has its own private courtyard off the driveway belonging to the Main House. The owners have dog and 3 very friendly cats who like to welcome new guests.
