Vegan Heaven is a one-bedroom flat in the peaceful marina development area of Y Felinheli, North Wales. Non-vegans are very welcome to come and stay here, but please be prepared to respect the vegan kitchen: please do not prepare or consume animal-based foods on the premises. Vegan Heaven is vegan owned and run, and aspires to be as environmentally friendly as possible. There is easy access to Bangor, Caernafon, Anglesey and Snowdonia.

The space
Vegan Heaven is a one-bedroom ground-floor flat with a single living space with kitchenette, dining table and L-shaped sofa. The kitchenette is equipped with an electric cooker, toaster, kettle, Vitamix blender, 4-drawer Excalibur dehydrator and Omega masticating juicer. Please only use the juicer if you have prior experience of juicing with this type of machine. If you don’t, but you want to learn, please contact me!

There is a bathroom with toilet, sink, bath and over-bath shower.

The bedroom has a king-sized double bed and two bedside cabinets, and a single loft bed suitable for a medium-sized child. There is an electric piano which you may use if you have prior experience with this type of instrument. There is also an acoustic guitar which you are welcome to play.

Access to the flat is via a covered pathway leading from the parking area. There is a small private patio to the right of the path as you walk down a few steps towards the building, and communal gardens. The bird-feeder attracts a variety of garden birds, with recent visitors including goldfinches, blue tits, great tits, coal tits, long-tailed tits and a nuthatch.

Guest access
You will have the exclusive use of the whole flat for the duration of your stay. Access is via a key safe. You will be provided with the code. Parking is free and in a safe, quiet spot to the rear of the property. To get to the flat by car you need to drive over a metal bridge and up a road that curves up a steep hill (stay in first or second gear and go slowly!). Don’t worry, loads of people drive up and down this every day including vans and big lorries! At the top go straight on to the end (don’t turn first right) and then follow the road around to the right, where you will find yourself at a dead-end. Park somewhere here and look for the flat with the patio and the bird feeder (it’s obvious!).

Other things to note
Please note that Vegan Heaven is deliberately set up to be a place for deep rest, relaxation and recovery. Because of that, there is by choice no WiFi and no television. There is also no dishwasher (you will have to wash the dishes the slow and mindful old-fashioned way!), and there is no carbon monoxide alarm because the flat does not have a gas supply (so there is no need - the heating is all electric).

There is no television licence, so you will need your own if you want to watch television on your own device. However, phone reception inside the flat is also limited. You can pick up phone reception outside the flat and there is free WiFi at The Swellies cafe which is just a five minute walk away if you really must check those emails. Please don’t leave bad reviews about the lack of WiFi or phone reception. Instead I ask you to embrace the clean air, book selection and lack of electromagnetic radiation. Slow down, take a digital holiday, open the window at night, listen to the owls and the woodpeckers, and you will sleep like a baby! Really…
