Let’s be honest: the real world is a bit much right now. If you’re looking for a place to unplug, hide out, and pretend the news cycle doesn’t exist for a few days, welcome to your comfy 19th-century refuge.
Nestled at the end of a half-mile farm track high in the Welsh hills, Blaengawney Farm is the place to get away from it all. We’ve got you covered: peaceful forests for walking and biking, fresh, pure mountain spring water on tap, and award-winning Hallets Cider onsite.
The space
The Farmhouse Kitchen (Newly Renovated!)
The true heart of the home. We have completely redesigned the kitchen to be a wonderful, social space for cooking and gathering.
The Setup: A large, modern induction range cooker sits perfectly within the original stone Inglenook fireplace.
Dine & Chat: A brand new, extendable dining table with bench seating comfortably accommodates 6 to 8 people right in the kitchen—perfect for keeping the cook company with a glass of wine!
Fully Equipped: Generously stocked with quality pans, sharp knives, and a dishwasher. The house is even supplied with fresh spring water straight from the Welsh mountains.
Living & Dining
The Sitting Room: A cozy, character-filled space featuring historic beams, comfortable seating, and a log burner for those chilly Welsh evenings.
Formal Dining Room: In addition to the kitchen table, the farmhouse features a large, separate dining room for more formal evening meals or spreading out board games.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Sleep: Three spacious bedrooms (1 King, 1 Double, and 2 Singles) designed for a deep, quiet country sleep.
Refresh: We have three bathrooms. Upstairs, there is a family bathroom with a bath and shower, plus a second bathroom with a bath. Downstairs, there is a highly convenient shower room right by the entrance—perfect for washing off after a muddy hike or ride!
The Grounds & Farm
You have access to extensive gardens on the farm, which include two ponds and a BBQ area.
We are a working cider farm! Hallets Cider is made unobtrusively next door in one of the barns. We have a few sheep in our fields (it's Wales after all) but no other farm animals - just apples!
Wilderness Wellness & Trails
Just because you are hiding away doesn't mean you can't get your heart rate up.
Explore: We are ideally situated for focusing on your wellness and clearing your head. Hike or cycle to Mynydd Maen straight from the farm, or enjoy the beautiful Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal.
World-Class Biking: We are a short drive to great mountain biking sites including Tirpentwys Trails, Cwmcarn Forest, and BikePark Wales. The Cafall Rock Garden loop is practically on our doorstep.
Secure Storage: Bringing bikes? We have a separate, secured indoor space onsite to lock them up.
Private Getaway
Total Seclusion: The property is accessed via a half mile farm lane (suitable for regular cars). There is no road noise on the property and it is not overlooked. Great to truly get away from it all.
Stunning Location: The farm has been the filming location for several TV programmes including the first episode of Sam and Shauna's Big Cookout on the BBC.
Guest access
You will have the entire house to yourselves. There is ample parking onsite. The property is accessed via a half mile farm lane (suitable for regular cars).
