The access road to the cottage is via an unpaved farm track approximately 0.6 miles long. It’s regularly used by a range of vehicles, so as long as you take it slowly, you’ll be absolutely fine!

The two cottages are set around a courtyard in the beautiful River Wear Valley and share the courtyard with the owner and his family.
Open fields surround the four houses at Edge Knoll Farm and wildlife can be seen wherever you look. You may see deer, badger, hare, rabbits and of course there have been more than 80 species of birds spotted. In Spring the swallows arrive, gather their nesting materials and build their nests in the outbuildings around the courtyard. A regular annual spectacle with some of the best flyers in the world to be seen from your window in the whichever cottage you choose.
Hamsterley village is about two miles by road, or around a 20-30 minute walk and boasts a good country pub/ restaurant.
Through Hamsterley and you are at Hamsterley Forest. Here you can take your life in your hands on the mountain biking trails, pony trekking, or just enjoying being with the kids while they visit the Gruffalo trail or find the various other attractions specially designed for them. The different attractions are segregated and well managed by Forestry England and are safe for all ages.
Walk on the Durham Dales moors, drive up our beautiful Wear Valley or just visit the many, many outdoor attractions. All on your doorstep here at Edge Knoll Farm.

So I have varied travel likes and tastes in food, as well a great respect for all Nationalities of the world.
