Challenging hike to a high bluff. Incredible view of the Keweenaw coastline and tip. Difficult drive unless you have 4x4. We made it in our Jetta, but just barely.
Unparalleled views from this perch high above Bete Gris. A somewhat strenuous hike is required to get there but it is well worth the effort. If you are going to Bear Bluff please keep in mind there are 2 routes (Upper and Lower). The Lower route is quite strenuous and - honestly - dangerous. The Upper Route is recommended. Look for the sign and the split in the trail and stay to the left.

Great hike to see the Keweenaw Peninsula. You can make it a short hike or a longer hike depending on your skill level. I would download AllTrails app on your phone and this hike is called Bare Bluff. You will probably lose reception up there so this app will help you find it.
This nature preserve loops all around Bete Grise. Two of our favorite hikes: The Bare Bluff hike is a moderately difficult hike over a forested hill, with gorgeous views of Bete Grise and the south side of the peninsula. The Botany Trail is an easy stroll through dunes and marsh, bringing you to a secluded, sandy beach. Our kids' favorite beach.
