Holiday rentals in Auldgirth

From minute 1 of booking this amazing lodge David was extremely responsive and friendly. This gave us a warm idea of what was to come. Upon arrival we were then greeted by another very kind and welcoming lady (didn’t catch her name sorry) who shown us into the perfect cottage with extreme politeness. The lodge was filled with everything needed, hot tub was warm on arrival, TV was huge and could be rotated (can even face the hottub. This was a bonus for us as we are movie geeks 👍🏽 The kitchen was stunning and some essentials were provided that we actually forgot to bring (salt, pepper, oil). Cannot fault a single bit of the stay. Immaculate. The outside porch was tremendous too. It is closed off nice so that even when you’re in or out the hot tub you feel 0 draft. Upon leaving we spoke to 3 lovely ladies, 2 cleaners and 1 other lady who was also super lovely (sorry no names again). It was a really good stay for my girlfriend’s birthday. She was very helpful. I’d never used air bnb before. And arranged this last minute.

This was stunning, the cottage looks exactly like the photos. Immaculate and finished to a really high standard. Kitchen facilities were excellent. Wood burner was perfect as it was cold during our stay. Great location for local walks, restaurants and supermarket. Great meal at the local pub. Hot tub was a delight after some long walks in the hills. Couldn't fault it, Catherine was a fantastic host!

We had a wonderful stay! The church has been beautifully renovated, and everything was spotlessly clean. The fireplace made it feel extra cosy, the beds were very comfortable, and the large bathtub was a lovely touch. Check-in and check-out were seamless. We’d love to stay again!

Excellent accommodation and less than 15 mins away from Gretna Green where daughter was getting married! Our two small dogs were welcomed and the enclosed garden leading directly to a riverside walk was what aced our choice! Had a lovely couple of days here for my birthday- the cottage really feels like a home from home and there are lots of little extras which make the experience, such as games, paintings, pantry items and we loved watching the birds on the feeders - we saw wood peckers and a buzzard sat in the tree opposite. Adrienne is really responsive and made the experience really easy for us! Thanks again x

We had a great stay, from booking until check out Donald was a great host. Recommendations for us to visit, local restaurants and shops. There was a slight issue with the WiFi for about 10 minutes, Donald responded instantly and was resolved straight away, (was probably our fault tbh). The location was fantastic, about 15/20 minutes from the nearest town, Castle Douglas, which is also great. 30-40 minutes from 3/4 beaches. The house itself was great, large kitchen dinner lounge downstairs and a large lounge upstairs. Glass everywhere in the house so you can see the views on a clear day and at night you can sit in bed and watch the stars. The outside space was fantastic, large area out the front and to the rear of the house, our 4 dogs loved this. Also go through the gate and there is a wood which stretches for miles upon miles all tied together by a gravel track with lots of small walking trails. We will definitely be coming back.
