Comfortable home in safe neighborhood. Very clean.

This was our 2nd stay at Kevin and Liza’s place. We came back again not only due to the clean, well thought out and comfortable home, but because of the exceptional care and helpfulness from the hosts. Kevin and Liza went out of their way to make sure we had a great, comfortable vacation. I was so pleased to work with them and wished all my Airbnb hosts were as eager to assist me. We have made this our Marquette vacation home!

Our stay at Chris’ was magical! The view was amazing and the house was beautiful. The morning sunrise on the water was spectacular ! We loved all the extra space, whether it was to find a private spot to read or a place to gather together for fun and games. The house was comfortable yet elegant. Chris was extremely accommodating for any special requests, and even made the water activities available late in the season. We hope to return again soon!

Penny out did herself! We were gathering for a family Christmas, which we usually have at our home…Penny had decorated so beautifully, that we all felt right at home! The space was perfect, plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and a great living area. We could all be in the same area, interacting and yet be doing our own thing! The house was clean, spacious and all the conveniences of home. For those of you that want to partake in the Marquette area, the location was convenient to town, Marquette Mountain and easy access for day trips. For us, we had a beautiful Christmas!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! The kids had so much fun sleeping in the loft. The house was spacious and cozy. Our group was 2 adults / 2 kids, but it could have accommodated a few more. We ate out at restaurants on the trail most of the time, but the kitchen had adequate equipment to make a full meal if desired. Plenty of parking for our 29’ trailer and close enough to the snowmobile trails. You do have to ride the road for a bit to get up to the main trail, but generally the road was covered enough to be able to get there. A few bare spots but that was due to lack of snow than anything. We would recommend Chuck’s place and would consider coming back again! We normally stay at a family cabin but it was unavailable….which was a great opportunity to try out an Air BNB! Thank you!!

Our stay at Big Bear was great. Shelly was so quick to get back to us whenever we needed her. The house was clean and cozy. We stayed in the lower unit and as other reviewers have said, you can hear upstairs neighbors—ours were pretty loud at first but we were able to talk to them and they were respectful about it. It did not affect our stay though since everything else was perfect.

Me and my family enjoyed our time here. There were tons of stuff to do especially for the kids. Jason was super proactive which made communicating with him easy. This place definitely instilled beautiful memories with my family. Definitely worth checking out!

Overall, I give Bob and Linda’s lodge 5/5. It was exactly what I was looking for: an authentic off-grid UP experience. It’s clean and homey, and Bob and Linda are top notch hosts, going out of their way to make your stay a good one. If you’re looking for a great off-grid experience, this is it. However, it may not be for everyone. For example, we visited in October, and we had to heat the lodge through fireplaces as there is no central heating. I personally enjoyed that but can imagine others not wanting to deal with it. The lodge has an open concept floor plan, and I recommend guests consider sleeping arrangements carefully. While there are a ton of beds, there are few doors, and most sleeping areas don’t have one. So it may not be the best if you have people going to bed or waking up at different times.
