This was the perfect getaway, it was peaceful and remote as the other cottages on the property are well spaced out from each other. It was easy to feel relaxed and at home in the cottage and the hot tub was an additional treat. Would highly recommend staying here. :)

A very peaceful, relaxing situation with stunning views across the dam to ge mountains. Family friendly with a great pool. Well appointed cosy cottage and just a short drive into Swellendam for great restaurants.

Heleens directions to the house were very helfpul, as well as her recommendations for the De Hoop NP. The bluehuis is a real oasis if you‘re seeking for a quiet environment. Perfect to calm down & watch the stars. Heleen was a very lovely host & supportive in any way.

What an awesome experience. Not only the house is back to nature, but you can drive around on the property and have your own little game drive. We saw Wildbeest, Kudu, Eland, Boks just like that... in a 20m distance... Great place to come down and enjoy the view. Thank you Jackie

What a beautiful place.. My gf and I spent the weekend in the lavender cottage and loved every moment.. The cottage is amazing, the views are fantastic and the hot tub was divine!!! Cindy was an amazing host and communication with her was fantastic.. Highly recommended - We will be back :)

Such a beautiful property with an incredible view. We were thoroughly impressed with all the off grid amenities and at no time felt uncomfortable or unsure with how everything worked. Could have easily stayed longer. Braaiing in the evening was a little magical. We didn't swim as the water was a bit too cold for us. Please note though. The listing mentions that it is a bumpy road. This is a gross understatement. The road is an incredibly bumpy single lane dirty road and completely overgrown in places. Our rental car was not happy at all. Please be sure to ask prior to booking if they have maintained the road.

Had a wonderful 3 day stay at the guest cottage. We have been in south Africa for a month and stayed in some great places but this was the jewel in the crown! Indoors was light and airy with a well equipped kitchen lovely lounge area and comfy bed. The outdoor area had gorgeous views over the vineyards, an outdoor shower and a plunge pool. The pictures don't do this place justice. Hildegard is a great host, friendly and very easy to communicate with. It is,a difficult place to find but her directions were spot on. We must come back again!

Peaceful cottage with everything you need for a home a way from home. The cottage has ample space and has comfortable lounge and outdoor area to to relax and enjoy nature. The hot tub was amazing. Lucy was an incredible host she communicated well and always helpful when we asked. I would definitely recommend for a quiet and peaceful time away.

The moment we arrived we fell in love with this gorgeous place. The architecture of the house is beautiful and it is very well decorated. Rene is a very kind woman and so are her three sweet dogs. If you like a private place, surrounded by nature and very close to the centre of Swellendam, this is your place!

We loved this place. Beautiful views, lovely rooms and kitchen, great braai The only problem was finding the location - the point on the map in Airbnb is not correct, so please change it, so it was easier to find you

We stayed here for two nights as part of a longer trip from the UK in the Western Cape. This was such a lovely spot to just stop and relax. We loved the inside/outside space and a cooler/rainy day gave us the opportunity to enjoy a hot tub under the stars. The gardens and grounds are beautiful. Worth a visit to the cutting flower garden across the road. We also really enjoyed the opportunity to swim and kayak in the river. Breakfast hampers a great touch- delicious and beautifully presented. We also made use of ordering braii/ salads and veg which made self catering very easy indeed!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this accomodation. My two year old looooved the tractors and cows. Outdoor hot tub was delightful and the surprise of fresh bread, butter and milk on arrival was delicious. The only downside was not staying for longer.

While not suited for those seeking luxury, this farmhouse is a special retreat for anyone looking to unwind and appreciate nature's beauty. Finding pet-friendly places can be rare, but this one was perfect for our new pup, featuring a secure enclosure with lush green grass. A big thank you to our hostess for the delightful rusks, muffins, and savory treats!

Saddleworth Farmhouse is a brilliant stay. Tranquil, great activities to do and very well equipped with everything one needs.

This was one of the best places I have been too. So serene and beautiful. I even got rusks from Toinette on the kitchen table. I felt completely at home with Toinette's as a wonderful hostess. I will hopefully be back next year. Thank you so much Toinette!!

This accommodation is amazing, the staff on site are incredible and friendly and so attentive. It was such a nice surprise to have a team of people on site that worked in the background to make our stay that little bit better. I would highly recommend this property, and can assure you we will absolutely be back again! I'd rate it higher 8f there was an option to!

We loved our stay at the Lake house. A big family travelling from JHB to Ctn for a family wedding. Lots of space for everyone and for kids to keep themselves entertained. Swimming in the lake was a hit! Thank you

Our stay at The Pines in the stunning Hexriver Valley was nothing short of extraordinary. The house is beautifully designed, spacious, and filled with thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. Every window seemed to frame a postcard-worthy view of the surrounding mountains and vineyards. The setting is serene and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Whether we were enjoying coffee on the patio or taking in the sunset over the valley, every moment felt special. The attention to detail in both the house and its surroundings made our stay truly unforgettable. Thank you to our wonderful hosts for providing such a welcoming space. We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend The Pines to anyone looking for a memorable getaway in nature!

We had the best stay at Alkies Dream. The cottage is so beautiful - it has a. outside shower & toilet (in addition to the bathroom in the cottage). The outside seating is perfect for having meals & chilling. The location of the cottage is perfect as you can walk into town. It was also close to lots of hikes. Alkie & her husband were the perfect hosts. We were lucky enough to get homemade bread & jam with fresh coffee the morning after we arrived. it was delicious. We will definitely return but will plan a longer stay next time.

We absolutely loved our stay. The beautiful house, pool, boma and garden gave us so much to do, a 2 night stay felt like a proper holiday. What a serene getaway. Christine was accommodating and we felt so spoiled with the fresh bread and gifted wines.

The house is very comfortable and perfect for a relaxing family getaway. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The garden is secure with lovely lawns for the kids to play. Carin is very friendly and showed us around the farm. The setting is wonderfully peaceful and private. The kids loved all the animals!

The directions were accurate and we arrived at the idyllic old farm house where everything was neat and tidy. The braai room was an added bonus and a great place for our evenings. We were skeptical about the hot tub but once we lit the fire it warmed up nicely and was very relaxing. Although we were in the country amongst the vineyards, the town was only 5 minutes away if we needed anything. The garden was big enough for us to have a good game of cricket and the pool was there to cool us down when we finished. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

We had a fantastic stay in Barrydale and Daph was an extremely friendly, helpful host. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer than one night, but we'll definitely make an effort to visit again in the future.
