Holiday rentals in Buckhannon

We had a fantastic stay at Sylvia’s Airbnb! The space was much more spacious than the pictures suggested, and it had such a cozy atmosphere. The kitchen was well-equipped and perfect for cooking meals, and we really appreciated having laundry and a hot tub—both great bonuses after long days on the slopes. The location was super convenient, making it easy to get to Snowshoe. The only downside was that essential supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags were limited. While Sylvia wasn’t able to restock them during our stay, she did reimburse us for what we purchased, which we appreciated. Overall, we had a great experience and would love to book again next winter!

This is one of the best airbnbs we have ever stayed in. Emily, the host, was very responsive. It is like staying at someone’s home as the decor is both beautiful and personal. The kitchen was beyond well stocked. Three different kinds of coffee makers and coffee for each. Grab and Go snacks and breakfast foods. Plenty of dishes, silverware, good pots and pans and bakeware, cooking utensils and spices. Plenty of towels and bedding and all the beds were comfortable. The house has many toys, games, puzzles and even two backboard walls to draw on. These came in handy as one of our days was rainy so we stayed inside and enjoyed the home away from home. If you have kids, this place has everything you need (stools, potty seats, crib, toys, rope swing and outdoor play set, etc) which is so hard to find at an air bnb. The house was about 40 minutes from Blackwater Falls State Park and we had a fun day doing the long sled run… would definitely recommend!

My wife and I needed a trip away from the city for the long holiday weekend where we could enjoy some good activity in peaceful surroundings with our dog. This cozy pedestal cabin in Black Bear Resort was just what we were looking for. Check in was easy by picking up the keys at the resort lodge. The place had everything we needed to a cook a couple nights for ourselves, including the gas grill on the deck. The wall-mounted 4K flatscreen TV with Roku let us relax after three active days out and about in Canaan Valley while we listened to the thunderstorms roll over the mountains each evening. This would certainly be a fine place for folks (especially with kids -- there were two sets of bunk beds in the loft) to use a base for their WV adventures any time of year!

The cabin was immaculate and Kim was a great host. Very responsive to all of my questions and needs. The location was peaceful and I'd be happy to stay again. A great value for the price and I look forward to returning in the future.

great place for a large family gathering. right by the slopes!

Brittany's AirBnB was a great spot for a weekend ski trip to White Grass! The place was spacious and the location couldn't be beat. Check-in/check-out were easy (once we went to the right building--in the dark we mistook a breakfast spot for the office). It would've been nice to have some shampoo and conditioner provided for guests so that we didn't have to bring our own. Otherwise, it was a quiet and cozy space, and we appreciated the wide kitchen/dining area for playing board games and making breakfast!

The house layout was perfect for a ski trip with kids. As you walk into the house, there is a large ski gear storage area to the right with benches and rubber mats. That is a huge benefit when multiple kids are trying to put on ski boots in the morning! At the end of the ski day, everyone loved the hot tub, and the basement area with foosball table was the perfect hangout spot for the kids. We barely saw the kids after dinner each night! We cooked most meals at the house, and I appreciated the quality cookware available and the large fridge. Another benefit is the on-call shuttle, as it permitted us to leave our vehicles parked all weekend.
