Family-friendly holiday rentals in Cathays

Large house in a great location. Outdoor space is much better than it looks in photos. Plenty of cafes/bars/restaurants on doorstep. A few mins walk to train station. Good independent shops. Perfect for long weekend if attending a Cardiff event like a concert. Only things to mention are the outdoor space is on several levels with hard patios so need to keep an eye on any kids. House is still a family home so full of belongings. Still plenty of space though.

This place really defied expectations. Really lovely spot, super clean, really friendly. If your thinking about this one… don’t think and just do! It was an amazing experience. 11/10!!!

Excellent weekend. Sian was very helpful and friendly. Great location for city centre and rugby stadium. Very nice local shops with places to eat. House great and accommodated two families, Sian left lots of treats to eat & drink which were much appreciated. Diolch.

What a lovely little country retreat, peaceful and restful yet with plenty to do on your doorstep. The walk to the country pub, through the village was a highlight. The kids loved the horses, rope swing and of course jacuzzi. We will definitely stay again.

We had a great stay at Brian’s place, very clean and nice garden area too. We had slight miscommunication about the hot tub use, but Brian’s communication was speedy and soon got this sorted for us. Would recommend!

Very homely welcoming feel. Well stocked fridge and generous breakfast provisions. Very pet friendly and accommodating of our dogs. Spotless and clean and well kept and home from home vibe. Charming decor. Hosts couldn't be more generous and considerate. Ivan and Jaine were so helpful friendly and welcoming. So quick to respond to anything extra we needed. We had such a great new year with our family living in the area which was made even better by this brilliant Airbnb. Thank you

We had a great night’s stay at Dafydd’s fab house. Right in the middle of Cardiff and very convenient for our theatre trip. Easy parking for two cars on the drive. All the bedrooms were tidy and comfortable, plus two big and clean bathrooms. Dog friendly too. Great communication from Dafydd from the moment we booked until the moment we left. Thanks for having us!

Stayed here with friends and our 10 dogs. They absolutely loved the outside space and local woodlands and beach walks. The Cottage was just perfect , great layout and so well equipped it had everything we would need and more. The welcome basket was much appreciated after we arrived late and didn’t have time to do a food shop for breakfast. I can highly recommend the Red lion pub for dinner it’s very dog friendly and has delicious food. We can’t thank Jane enough for letting us stay with all our 4 legged gang it was a great family mini break and we hope to be back .

A beautiful home in a beautiful surrounding. Very private yet close to amenities and within easy reach of the city centre. Spotlessly clean, excellently equipped, and very pleasant.

Emma was a great host , nothing was too much trouble for her and she left us some very thoughtful treats! Lovely comfortable house with great parking and a little park opposite the house perfect for dog walking. It’s an easy walk from the house into central Cardiff. Thank you Emma!

We were visiting for a rather sad reason and Robert was kind and compassionate and happy to be flexible re check in which was a huge help. The flat is clean and comfortable with everything you need. Spice Ambassador a good local food option as is the Taffs Well inn - the Monday fish and chip deal there was excellent. We also didn’t really hear the trains from the bedroom. Thanks!

Incredible views in every direction, beautiful autumn colours! Secluded and peaceful at the top of the mountain behind Pontypool but 5 mins away from amenities if needed. House was warm and comfortable. Lovely comfy beds and bedding. Dog friendly with plenty of walks on the doorstep. Agneta was friendly and on hand to welcome us. Helpful leaflet collection in lobby! A great base to explore the southern National Park. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Janine is a great host and my colleague has had a good stay here. Her home is cosy, welcoming and a home from home whilst we are working in central Cardiff. I would definitley recommend her as a host, she is proactive and helpful.

This was our second visit and we stayed in Pine tree . We had a lovely relaxing stay and thoroughly enjoyed it . We had the pleasure of meeting Rita and thought she was a lovely friendly lady . Pine Tree had everything we needed for our 4 night staycation . We will definitely return again .

Came to Cardiff for a concert at the Principality Stadium. The flat was in the perfect location - easy to walk into Cardiff centre yet very quiet area. Mike was an exceptional host - so welcoming and friendly and lovely touches such as a couple of beers after our very long drive. This flat was a great find!

Second time here for me, great little flat, clean, comfortable and has everything you need. There's a bit of traffic noise from the bridge but that's only to be expected when you're staying in the middle of a capital city. The flat itself is very quiet and I hardly heard a sound from any other occupants of the building. All round just an excellent spot for a business trip or city break. Two thumbs up.

We had a great stay here. Perfectly situated to the stadium. The host was very friendly and helpful with early checkins and parking. Also some little extras which we weren’t expecting. Great place to stay and great hosts! We will stay here again.

My second stay. Sasha is a perfect host and this is a great go to if visiting family. The place has everything you need.

The Sweet Shop is a spacious place to stay, and super clean, with everything we needed. We were a small group but it still felt cosy. With a small child we ate in, the kitchen is well equipped. We enjoyed the local Coffi Lab and walks along the River Taff, and in Llandaff Fields. We stayed there so we could see close family over New Year who live nearby and it worked really well. The host was extremely helpful and very quick to respond with pre-visit questions. Would definitely recommend.
