Holiday rentals with a kayak in Central Huron

This is a very special cottage in a beautiful location. We very much enjoyed the private beach and sauna. The kayak, waterboard and canoe were a great hit with the kids. Having the lawn and the shallow steps to the beach was particularly great for keeping an eye on the kids and easy access to the water for grandma. We didn't need them as we were outside most of the time, but there are games and Lego available for kids which I thought was a lovely touch. We would definitely like to come back! Fyi: One thing we missed with this listing is that there are no bedside lamps in any of the rooms which made reading very tricky as the overhead light is very dim.

Trudy was a great hostel and responsive whenever i messaged her. The place was beautiful..nice and clean snd great location. My family and i had a great time!

We rode our motorcycles from Ottawa to David's Brights Grove cottage and when we arrived, he had a nice cold one in the fridge for our arrival and fresh farm eggs (we didn't cook unfortunately). The cottage is sooo close to a beautiful blue water beach yet is far enough away, tucked in to the cutest and quietest little neighborhood you've ever seen. The cottage has a lovely, very private patio, all surrounded by plants and flowers and the trees keep it all wonderfully shaded. Also a nice outdoor fireplace and one indoors too. David stopped by on Sunday morning and told us to take our time checking out, chatted about the area with my partner (who grew up in that area 50/60 years ago), and took some pics of our motorcycles. What a fantastic person, we didn't meet Juli but hopefully in the future. Thank you David and Juli. We'll be spreading the word through the biker community to definitely check you out. Cheers. We booked our stay only a few days in advance, and Ramy was very quick in arranging everything including snow removal for us. We really felt at home with our 7 month old, it was well stocked and equipped for a stay with little ones. Wherever we needed a charger or a speaker, there was one waiting. They have really considered everything for your stay! The home was clean and fresh, and the sauna was a great addition! The views from the sunroom were unbelievable. We had an amazing time watching the snow fall, and can't wait to return to see the home in the summer. The only item to mention is the 3 flights of stairs leading down to the home are only mentioned in one small section of the listing. Not an issue for us, but may be for other guests not realizing. Well worth it!

Marsha's place was great, spacious and relaxing. The cottage was very well equipped with amenities and kitchen had more than everything we needed in terms of condiments, spices etc. very close to the beach, although we didn't get down there due to the weather. Nearby towns worth exploring - Bayfield, and the Cowbell is a great local brewery with good food for lunch. Marsha is a great host, access to the property is easy and simple, and check-in and check-out times were flexible. We will definitely be back!

I recently had the pleasure of spending three unforgettable days at a charming lakehouse, and it exceeded all my expectations. Nestled amid stunning natural scenery, the house offered breathtaking views of the lake, especially during sunrise and sunset. The interior was beautifully decorated, combining rustic charm with modern amenities. The spacious living area was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, and the fully equipped kitchen made cooking meals a joy. I loved the cozy fire pit, which created a warm atmosphere for our evening gatherings. The outdoor space was equally impressive, with a lovely deck perfect for sipping coffee in the morning and enjoying meals al fresco. The private dock provided easy access for swimming and kayaking, making it a great spot for both relaxation and adventure. Overall, this lakehouse was the perfect getaway for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. I can’t wait to return for another serene escape!

We had the perfect getaway at the pebble, the cottage was very homey and comfortable. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a place to unwind while listening to the sounds of the waves at any time of day! You can tell Catherine has put thought into every detail of the stay, from the ample seating, to the kayaks, and even a bottle of wine and chocolates upon arrival, Catherine has thought of everything and anything you might need. We really enjoyed the added touch of having a bin for vegetarian food scraps to feed the goats! Also the sunsets over Lake Huron both from the cottage and on the beach a few steps away were beautiful!

Enjoyed our stay over the holidays visiting family. Janice’s place was spacious with comfy beds. Would definitely consider staying again!

Wow!! This is a beautiful place…exactly as you see in the pictures. The outdoor shower was a nice feature. The outdoor space is comfortable and spacious. The fire pit was set up for us, all we had to do was light it. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. There are a number of steps to the beach but worth the walk as nothing beats a Lake Huron sunset. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board on the calm water. The beach area is very private , only a few others around. We loved this place and will be returning next year!!

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay. The location is amazing, hot tub helps wind down and the view of the lake at sundown was priceless. David’s place was extremely clean and had all the useful kitchen utensils we needed. We enjoyed everything the house had to offer. Family time at this stay was the best! David was very responsive and friendly. Can wait to return next year!

The place is even more beautiful than the photos! Alexis’s place was spotless, had everything you would need, the beds were extremely comfortable, lots of space, peaceful, and the beach and view was gorgeous. The beach is sandy- not rocky and very slowly gets deeper but the water is pretty shallow (waist height) so great for kids or people looking to just cool off. We even found lots of sea glass for art! The stairs were easy to go up and down, but the golf cart was a great option if you didn’t want to or were unable to use the stairs. Just a short drive from grand bend, but Alexis gave many local activities and recommendations. I highly recommend bringing bug repellents. Alexis was very quick to respond, organized, and the best host I’ve communicated with on Airbnb. We would all love to come back!

Susan was a great, friendly and accommodating host. We felt right at home during our stay. The place was clean and the amenities were great. Perfect place for a “glamping” experience away from the city!

The place was Beautiful and clean Could use a compost Bin , the beach was clear and clean looking , the fire wood was dry it would light great and owners were great and was very friendly and helpful the bathrooms were clean and the shower had hot water that was great we will be returning lots on are own and with family, friends to set back and relax we Highly recommend.

The stay at Cecilia and Jorge's cottage was incredible. It contains everything a family requires for enjoyment. We are a family of 4 adults as the kids are grown and we spent most of our time on the private beach swimming, using the paddle boards and kayak, or just sitting in chairs on the beach enjoying the scenery. The water was very clear. The cottage includes all the necessary amenities, and firewood is provided for the nightly firepit fires in the backyard. A set of stairs leads directly from the backyard to the beach. We stayed for a week and could easily have enjoyed many more. Thank you again, Cecilia and Jorge, for being such great hosts and for the wonderful stay!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Hawthorn cottages and Brian as a host. I rented a one bedroom cabin for the weekend, and it was perfect. I was looking for a rest in relaxation and I found it. You have all of your basic amenities in the cozy, rustic dwellings. Simple and efficient. Great value for the experience. There is a shared bathroom facility, separate men’s and ladies’ washroom and a shower. It’s truly a little slice of paradise. So peaceful and every cabin is mere steps from the lake. Gorgeous scenery. I went as a solo female traveler and felt cozy and comfortable the entire time. It was perfect. Brian checked in from time to time to make sure everything was going well. Everyone there was so friendly and lovely. I look forward to returning.

We had a great time at Brian's place! The amenities were excellent and the lake was gorgeous, especially at sunrise and sunset. If you walk out a bit at night you can also get a great view of the stars. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and we really appreciated being able to buy propane and wood at the shop. The bathroom was also really clean and it was nice that there was hot water.

We had an amazing stay! The house was spotless, cozy, and set in such a beautiful, peaceful location. The fireplace was a perfect touch, making our evenings warm and relaxing. Communication with the host was effortless—they were always quick to respond and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Highly recommend.
