Family-friendly holiday rentals in Central Otago

Jason and Scott are truly Great hosts. Their cottage is amazingly lovely, clean, with a wonderful view and complete amenities. All we need are readily and conveniently available. Instructions are clear, and the place is indeed very guest-friendly. We had a homey and very special experience. The SPA is also a great deal and the view is breathtaking. We will be back, and hopefully longer stay. Thanks to them for sharing their place; we, as a family, just made another priceless memory.

We had a lovely stay at Lynda's place. We were very touched by Lynda's generosity and thoughtfulness. The generous provisions for breakfast, the welcome bottle of wine, just to list a few. We loved the peaceful location and the opportunity to watch the night sky from the outdoor bath. I highly recommend Lynda's place, especially if you like to have a rural experience.

Simons place is stunning. Cool architecture in a lovely secluded spot overlooking the lake. Super responsive host, replied within a few minutes when we had questions. Would love to stay again!

This is a great place to stay while visiting Wanaka. Just a short ride to town with lots to do. This has a cabin-like feel but with all you need for a fun stay. I would recommend for anyone wishing to stay in Wanaka!

Beautiful location with stunning views. Very easy check in, greeted by their lovely dog Remi and lots of helpful recommendations from Vickie. Really comfortable stay and a lovely quiet location. It’s a drive into Queenstown but for us this was perfect to stay out of the busy areas. Very close to Arrowtown which was a lovely little trip out.

Unique and beautiful space. We loved the dog Indie and of course Bubba the sheep. Very comfortable space. Well appointed w spices. Ice etc. Nigel was helpful when we had a question. Would highly recommend the house.

The tiny house farm stay was a unique place. Cosy and quirky. Bianca and Andrew have done a fantastically creative job in converting the woolshed too. Bianca and Andrew were both so helpful and personable. A really neat spot which we thoroughly enjoyed.

This unit was absolutely wonderful. We couldn't have picked a better place. Close to town, things to see and airport for Mount Cook flights.

Photos don’t do the view justice. Jeremy was a great host. This is a cabin type experience. We stayed in the winter and used the cottage as a home base for skiing and other activities which was great. Quick ride over to Arrowtown and Queenstown but far away enough to feel private and peaceful. Some important points regarding previous reviews I read about the place being “cold”…the ground floor is all slate stone…as Jeremy recommended, just bring some sandals or slippers to wear around. There is a large heat pump, a lovely pot belly stove, and space heaters and all the beds have blanket heaters which we actually didn’t use because they were too hot…so it’s easy to stay warm and the view and coziness are well worth it, but if you’re expecting a thermostat in a hotel room that you set and leave…this wouldn’t be the place for you. We loved our stay and the host was very responsive.

One of our favorite places we've ever stayed! This space was designed so thoughtfully, and was well stocked with the essentials. The location was just what we wanted–quiet enough but close enough to Queenstown for easy access to everything we wanted to do. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Daisy’s place was spacious, clean and had everything we needed for our trip. Would highly recommend staying here!

I had a great stay in the cottage , The bed was super comfortable , It was nice and private. With easy instructions will defiantly book again. Birds chirping were just beautiful it was very peaceful.

The room is very nice, clean and very big with three or four children.Fully equipped with appliances, a very pleasant stay

Peter's place was perfect for our large freiend/family group. loved the fireplace and deck.

Bo's Bach was a lovely place to stay. It sits up high, with a beautiful view of the mountains and is walkable to the best Wanaka has to offer. You'll love it!

Lovely place; very spacious for two people and set in a beautiful garden visited by a wild peahen. We enjoyed the visits from their sweet dog and cat too. Conveniently located to Dunedin, grocery shopping and nearby beaches.

The view is fantastic, every window is like a picture frame, the equipment is very fully equipped, the room is clean and tidy, the host is very warm and friendly, the best homestay while traveling in New Zealand.

Fantastic stay at Paula’s house. Great home for our family and had everything we needed. Local Bakery and Four Square just down the road. Added bonus that we got to use the Community pool, it’s a great set up for families. The weather was perfect and we got to use the pool everyday. Would highly recommend staying here

Fantastic location, clean and tidy. Lovely and warm on cooler evenings. So handy being 2 minutes walk to the Cadrona pub for dinner.

We booked to stay for 2 nights & decided to stay for an extra night whilst there! Hosts were extremely responsive, the unit was exactly as described. Comfortable bed, excellent shower, conveniently located next door to the Cardrona Hotel & within easy access to Wanaka. It was perfect for what we needed & the pool was an added bonus. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

We had a wonderful stay at Tracy's home! Upon arrival, we were in awe of the modern property and beautiful surroundings. There was a blend of rain and sun during our stay, so we took advantage of every space. The home's interior is both contemporary and comfortable, with a sitting room and living room on one end and bedrooms and bathrooms on the other. A great layout. The outdoor space is generous, with a large deck, roomy seating area, and excellent pool to take in the mountain views. If you're lucky, you'll get a visit from the adorable neighborhood cat. This home was in a great central location for all of our activities – close to the action, yet far enough away for peace and seclusion. We hope to return someday!
