Cottage holiday rentals in Chirk

We had a wonderful weekend getaway in North Wales, having planned a spontaneous trip to climb Snowdon. The cottage was absolutely perfect for our needs—beautifully presented, cosy, and with a true home-from-home feel. After a long day of hiking, it was an absolute delight to return and unwind in the hot tub, making the experience even more relaxing. The setting was peaceful, and the property was exceptionally well-maintained, providing everything we required for a comfortable stay. The only suggestion I would make is to add a gate on the side to prevent the dog from wandering in and a door on the other side to avoid having to walk around the driveway. However, these are only minor points in what was otherwise a fantastic stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-situated retreat. We look forward to returning in the future!

An amazing stay with Steven and Luke, the place was absolutely beautiful, the surroundings were equally as good. The complimentary beers and wine were a great touch. Both Steven and Luke were very friendly and accommodating - would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay here. Thanks again!!!

Lovely little cottage! Exactly as described. Small but has everything that you need. We did need plenty of wood for the hot tub, we brought two big bags of our own so we had enough for 2 nights. First night took a few hours to heat (as it says in the book) but easy enough to do if you follow the instructions in the book which are very clear! Second day it heated up much quicker as we put the lid on right after we finished the night before and then got it started again first thing next morning. Bathroom is small but spotlessly clean! Kitchen very well equipped and they even left us lots of ice in the freezer, bonus! Tarvin high street is 20-30 min walk away (depending on your pace) where we had a lovely meal in Cornichon bistro. All in all a lovely little place to stay 😊

We had a fab stay at Jane's place. It was cosy and comfy and the hot tub was great with a lovely view out onto the garden. Jane was really helpful with the instructions about how to get there and gave some good recommendations - The Nags Head pub did a great Sunday lunch. We had a refreshing blowy walk up Pontesbury Hill - would recommend but be prepared for a very steep climb!!

We had the most wonderful stay at the cottage. Jan and her husband were so kind, friendly and welcoming. The check in process was super easy and we were given a lovely tour of the cottage and all the facilities. The garden was secure which was great for our dogs. The cottage was super clear and the beds were very comfy. The hot tub was amazing! And the views all around the cottage were breathtaking. There was a really helpful guide in the cottage filled with local recommendations which we found really helpful. My cousin was planning to come visit us whilst we stayed at the cottage in her small camper van, Jan was so kind and allowed her to park in their yard so she could be close to us instead of having to park at a campsite. Their kindness blew us away!

We spent a lovely couple of nights in Joe’s house. It’s beautifully presented, cosy and warm, and we felt right at home. Had everything we needed, the hot tub was a lovely bonus. Throughout the whole process Joe and his family were really helpful and would highly recommend a stay here, I hope to come back again!

We had a lovely stay at Llyr & Emma’s place - it’s in an amazing location, nice and secluded and beautiful with the river running alongside. The house itself is decorated fantastically, nice and warm on arrival, and very spacious! We were two couples staying together, and we never felt like we were on top of one another, each having a bathroom each and a good bit of space between the bedrooms, and the loft room to escape for peace and quiet to read! The kitchen is compact but functional and well stocked. With the larder off to one side meaning you don’t need so much space, we adequately cooked several meals. The hot tub is great to relax in after a long hike, and is decently private not being overlooked by neighbours - and meaning you can use it later in the evening without worrying about annoying any neighbours! The garden is beautiful, and the little stream passing through it is very relaxing with a contemplative morning coffee. 10/10 would recommend & definitely stay again!

Beautiful home couldn’t of asked for a better place to stay on our trip to north wales - everything you need is within a 15 mins drive and not too far from the snowdon national park. Eleanor was a lovely host and i’d recommend her place to anyone ❤️

Dear Emma and Andrew Thanking you so much for our stay at your beautiful Lock House, it was just the therapy needed at a very difficult time for my elderly mum. The location is idyllic, we loved hearing the new born lambs and watching them bounce around the field in the sunshine. We even had a visit from a gorgeous swan! Lock House is immaculate inside and out, a real home from home. So clean, comfortable, cosy and well equipped with lots of thoughtful extra touches including the welcome pack and fresh flowers on our arrival. We had a really wonderful restful break and we hope to return again in the future.

Having visited the town over the years, we were glad to be in such a convenient location. Vicki was very responsive and accommodating when organising logistics and once we were in the house there were no issues.

Caroline was very welcoming and helpful. The Lodge was spotless with everything supplied including all kitchen utensils, places to visit and local walks, and welcoming warmth which was much needed in freezing temperatures! Caroline provided an excellent description to find the property and was always on hand if needed. The Lodge was a fantastic and historically interesting location, and a wonderful base to explore Shropshire. Thank you for making our stay so pleasurable - would love to stay again, but for longer during a warmer month. Thank for for being an excellent host Caroline, my son and I enjoyed our break with you enormously.

Rachel gave clear and helpful instructions and a warm, friendly welcome. Wisteria cottage is beautifully fitted, clean, cosy, comfortable and much bigger than it looks from the outside. A pretty, private, warm cottage. Well equipped and situated within easy drive to both Oswestry and Shrewsbury. We had a lovely, relaxing short break and would certainly rebook. Many thanks, Rachel. This is a great option at an affordable price! The house is in pristine condition, and the rooms are actually slightly larger than they look on the photos! The beds were comfortable, and the decor was great. Dewi was a fantastic host: responsive and helpful. Highly recommended!

Lovely weekend getaway. Bluebell woods were right behind the cottage which was great for walking our dog in the mornings. Lovely views around the cottage too. It was lovely and warm and felt completely safe. Very relaxing time away.

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying here for only 3 nights and I was ready to move in!! Time & money has clearly been well spent here. The home was very clean, beautifully decorated/presented with plenty of amenities and Emily couldn’t have been more responsive and helpful to any questions we had! The hot tub was huge and well maintained, there is a big tesco nearby and plenty of walks and beautiful drives in to conwy and the surrounding areas. We visited the local castle pub which is just a 2 minute walk around the corner and were very welcomed and met some great people in there. We highly recommend a stay here, you wont be disappointed and we can’t wait to visit again in the future!

Beautiful little cottage, right in the centre, very clean and cosy

First of all a very friendly and personable host. An ideal property for a couple Cosy lounge, very usable kitchen, spacious bathroom with large shower cubicle and a good sized bedroom with comfortable bed.

Had a great stay at Rita’s Retreat. So peaceful and private and really enjoyed the hot tub (which Michelle had ready for us when we arrived!). Had a great time using the pizza oven and there are plenty of nice pubs nearby as well, and not too far from Ludlow which is so nice. Great stay and thanks to Michelle for all your help!

River Cottage was idyllic but we don't want to tell everyone as other people will book and then we will struggle to book!!! it was gorgeous, can't fault anything at all, we had a fabulous stay, weather was just right for March and the cottage lived up to all our expectations and more. Hannah was extremely responsive to all our messages and we simply cannot fault our stay. We are already looking at booking again in the Summer ☀️

the word 'Snug' comes to mind when you see this cottage. It's brilliant! Has under floor heating and has everything you need. Good value for money, this is our 3rd time staying here!
