If you are seeking peace and a quiet surroundings, this is the place to stay. There are lakes and lots of areas to hike. The kitchen is stocked with the equipment for some serious cooking and there is a grill and a firepit outside. The internet service is fast, the cable service has plenty to watch and the cabin is stocked with board games. If you are looking for lots of restaurants and high end grocery stores, this is probably not the best area for you.

The Roost was absolutely phenomenal! We got there Friday evening, before sunset. We did get a bit lost, but it's because we relied on google maps and Kim told us not to, once we used her instructions it was easy to find and get to! The cabin was so adorable and perfect for a romantic weekend away from the city. It was really peaceful and we only saw a handful of people while we were there. We left once to go on a hike at the Eagle Bluff Train by the Black River. It was a great hike, very nice views and easy to get to. We ended up getting a flat tire the next morning and we texted Kim. She was able to send someone to help us and they very kindly changed our tire so we could get out the next day. This cabin has great amenities, great hosts, and great vibes. 10/10 would stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the constant storms and cold temps the entire weekend. The cabin was a cozy place to take refuge from the weather and unwind. The surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful. The interior is pretty spacious and everything was comfortable and clean. While not a problem for us I will point out that the master bed is pretty tall, but the secondary bed is less so. Kelly was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process and our stay. We would definitely stay here again (and hope for better weather).

The house and property are beautiful and very private. The back porch was a great location to watch the sunsets. Also, kitchen now a microwave which was a bonus since previous comments talked about no microwave. Our phones connected to 5G so the fact that there was no a TV or wifi wasn't an issue for us. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The house is about 30-40 minutes (or less) from 3-4 state parks. Would definitely stay again!

Was a perfect location to stay if you want to see different attractions. House was beautiful and in very good condition as well!

Treehouse #2 was incredible. Jonathon was very responsive. Kids had a great time at the playground, hiking, and seeing the animals. Can’t wait to come back! When we do come back, we’ll bring a few kitchen items to cook with (ie, spatula). The treehouse had the basics, but nothing extra. If you have kids, bring some plastic cups. Everything in there was glass. Also worth noting that the nearest full store was 25 mins away.

Just what we were looking for in a low key weekend getaway! Natalie was a great host, and very helpful from before checking in when GPS was messing up on our end and we needed a pin dropped, answering any questions we had quickly, and having clear instructions for checking and checkout.

We were very happy with the cabin. It was so nicely laid out and comfortably furnished, we agreed we would like to build a place just like it. The beds and linens were exceptionally comfy and the house is so cute. We sat on the deck in the morning and enjoyed it. Would have liked to stay longer. Especially loved the layout of the house and the Thornton Burgess books. The instructions were clear, and the place was very nice.

this has become our new home away from home. My girlfriends and I metal detect at a local event each year and this will certainly be where we will be staying each year. Thanks so much to Josh and his wife for creating a beautiful place to stay.
