Many thanks to Thanuja and her family for their hospitality and great home. The house is beautiful, the location is excellent, close to shops, cafes, beach, surfing. The house has everything you need, a kitchen, a bedroom with a large bed, a workplace, fast Internet, air conditioning, a beautiful backyard. The hosts treated us to local food, it was very tasty. This is a great option for a long stay.

"Nice place to stay! The host is very polite and friendly, always ready to help. The view from the balcony is absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. The photos fully match reality, which was a pleasant surprise. It's only a 5-minute ride on a scooter to the center and the beach — the location is excellent. The only small downside is the lack of a full kitchen, as there’s just a stove and a sink on the balcony, but it's enough for simple breakfasts and dinners. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this place!"

Catherine's place is fantastic, beyond what we expected from the photos. It was large, well furnished and had plenty of nooks for the ten of us on a family holiday to find some chill time. The bedrooms were large, air conditioned (and fans), each with their own bathroom, and very comfortable. The garden was beautiful and spacious and with outdoor pavillion and wide verandahs was perfect to watch the kids in the pool. Nimal, the chef at the house, was fabulous and could cook almost anything we wanted from full Sri Lankan banquets to burgers and pizza. He was great to work with as was house manager Sathish. We had a wonderful 10 days here and would love to do it again.

Chathura is an incredibly and polite host who will make you feel at home instantly. This is the perfect accommodation for a stay in Hikkaduwa, it has everything you could ask for, for the best possible price. If you have any questions or problems chat, Chathura I will help you with it. You will also get the chance to learn about cinnamon production and how to cook a traditional Sri Lankan meal. Definitively recommended

We had a wonderful stay in Weligama. The accommodation was neat and the host is so kind! Worth the price. One has to consider, that the house lays directly at the main road. In total a great stay!

Fantastic location close to town. Beautiful and relaxing environment- perfect for families or a few couples. Excellent breakfasts provided to suit any tastes. Highly recommended and a reasonable price

Thank you Stephen and Sasun for an awesome stay at Villa Vador. What a wonderful property. We miss waking up to those jungle sounds and watching the wildlife! Sasun and his team were on hand to support with everything from making tea and coffee, organising tuk tuks, daily cleaning, and preparing a wonderful breakfast spread in the outdoor summer house. The Sri Lankan rice and curry Sasun and his chef provided was the best we’ve eaten in Sri Lanka. We saw monitor lizards, mongoose, monkeys, kingfishers along with other beautiful birds, frogs, even fireflies! Ahangama was a great little place with cafes overlooking the beach and just a short tuk tuk trip to Weligama for the wonderful surf beach. Hope to come back again soon!

Amazing stay at the skinny beach house. We stayed with our toddler and every morning he would ask to go straight onto the beach to see the sea turtles swimming in the ocean. Core memories were made in this house 💗

So, you’re obviously looking for accommodation in south-west Sri Lanka – well don’t look any further than Sailor’s Bay. From the minute you enter this paradise, you will be welcomed and charmed by Dilan and his family. The environment is gorgeous – any stress totally disappears. Nothing is too much trouble. They are engaging, and genuinely go out of their way to ensure that every second of your stay is a second to remember. Our family (13 – 3 generations – ages 2 – 74) was continually astounded by their willingness to do the best by us . It was a sad time when we left, but happy in the knowledge that we will return. So, take my word for it – Sailor’s Bay will not disappoint even the most pedantic traveler.

This is a fantastic find if you are looking for a genuinely quiet and peaceful escape. Raju works really hard to maintain the wonderful gardens and environment. It's alive with wonderful wildlife including chipmunks and monkeys that visit daily. I stayed for 3 weeks and used it as a base to explore further away. It's a bit of a walk from the village and beaches, and is quite a steep climb, there's always tuk tuks available if needed. Personally I didn't need them but it's reassuring to know that they are available should you need them. If you choose to stay here you are in for a genuine treat.

I’m a single woman traveling alone from the U.S. and from the first moment meeting the hosts, I felt like I was part of this beautiful family. I have friends forever here! So warm and welcoming and accommodating. What a beautiful example of Sri Lankan hospitality. The hostess is always eager to cook you a delicious Sri Lankan meal. They put in so much effort to make sure that I was comfortable and had everything I need. Excellent all around! Incredible value, excellent Wi-Fi, beautiful home, quick access to Hikkaduwa beach. The host has also been my personal tour guide of the area, which has a lot to see and experience. In particular the tsunami of 2004 was quite devastating to this area, and there are many memorials that are heart-opening. This family even rented a car and drove me eight hours to the center of the island where we spent the night together experiencing other sites! Incredible! I would highly recommend this home for anyone wanting to have a unique, personal experience!

We had an excellent stay at this apartment and appreciated all the thoughtful details. Communication with Dakshan was smooth and supportive from start to finish - he was very helpful, always quick to respond, and offered great assistance whenever we had questions or needed guidance. The apartment itself was in top-notch condition, featuring powerful air conditioning, fast internet, and a fully equipped kitchen that made cooking easy. The spacious layout and separate showers in each room gave everyone plenty of privacy and comfort. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the modern yet cosy feel instantly made us feel at home. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we’d gladly stay here again.

Our stay at this Airbnb was highly satisfying, starting with a warm welcome involving cold coconuts and chilled face towels, which was a thoughtful touch. An instance that stands out is when our motorcycle ran out of gas; the host's wife helped us find enough fuel to reach the nearest station, showcasing their readiness to assist in any situation. The property was well-maintained, and every detail seemed carefully considered to ensure guests' comfort. Despite the excellent condition of the accommodation and the host's hospitality, we experienced some issues with an unstable internet connection, which was the only downside of our stay. Overall, this Airbnb offers a good balance of comfort, convenience, and attentive hosting, making it a recommendable option for travelers.

Amila and Hannah are warm and friendly hosts, we felt very comfortable. The property is very spacious (rooms, incl. Bathroom, kitchen & terrace) and has a well-functioning air conditioning. The background noise (birdsong and other animal sounds) in the area is enchanting and you can enjoy nature from the terrace. The distance to the beach/sea was no problem for us with the always available tuktuks:) We would definitely come back and can recommend the Airbnb to anyone who would like to stay quiet and surrounded by nature.

The stay was excellent. The caretaker - Shalika was the best host ever! So caring, thoughtful, extremely helpful - everything you can ask for in a great host! She was so helpful and gave great recommendations all the time! She ensured that we have the best, most most comfortable stay. 10/10 recommend

Amazing apartment! So close to galle so easy to go for dinner. Nice restaurant/ beach club within walking distance. Aircon was a lovely. plus restaurant was a nice addition for easy lunches/ dinner!

Ananda and Malika are very lovely, kind and warm hosts. They were very generous and offered me several times some of the delicious food Malika had cooked. The Airbnb was excellent and spotlessly clean. Large and comfortable bed and plenty of space inside and outside under the protected verandah. Probably the best wifi I had in three months all over Sri Lanka. The little shop they have is very handy. Quiet and peaceful location and private. Highly recommended!

I stayed in the guest cottage on a lovely private (gated) property full of jungly trees, birds, and monkeys! Eva has built a paradise. It was wonderful to walk down to yoga a few times. Overall it's exceptionally clean, comfortable and quiet (except for all the bird chatter, but that was lovely). Also the staff are so lovely and helpful and smiling. Just a reminder that there's no AC, and you are in the jungle so be obsessively clean in the kitchen (hello ants) and don't let the little lizards scare you. I named one Fred. :). If the wifi doesn't work, just find the wifi repeater and ensure it's plugged in, and ta da, the signal perks right up. Highly recommend.

This is our 2nd stay at Sha Villas by Ushaan. Overall, Five-star host and a brilliant apartment! Check in and check out is super easy, and Ushaan is a very communicative and thoughtful host. It is a beautiful , spacious place with great amenities. Immaculately clean and a very convenient location. We would book again for our next visit.

The accommodation is beautiful and right on the sea. If you don't want to eat in the restaurant in the building complex, you always need a taxi to the nearest restaurant. Special requests were always taken into account and fulfilled. Furthermore, we were helped a lot in organizing the transfer to the airport.

There are all the dishes in the kitchen, coffee maker, good fridge, toaster and microwave, there is a cooler, drinking water can be bought in a large bottle on the ground floor Perfectly clean rooms, all surfaces are dust-free. Weekly cleaning deserves a separate description - so thorough and accurate. The host of the apartment gives very detailed clear check-in instructions and is always available, goes to a meeting for all questions. The complex has a swimming pool(110 cm deep) and a good basic gym. We stayed here for 1 week and ended up extending our stay for a month.
