Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in Great Barrier Reef

A rainforest retreat is how I see Melissa's. We loved the lounge room outside, it was comfortable and cool. Outside is a beautiful area. The bed was comfortable and we had all that we needed.

We stayed in the Wallaby suite which was very comfortable, tidy bedroom and bathroom. I booked fairly late in the day and they were able to host us and check in last minute which we really appreciated. Being able to do our laundry was a plus, and there is a pool as well. Only one aspect that seems rather dated is charging extra for wifi. This is almost always complimentary when accommodations do have it set up. I’d still highly recommend staying here while in Atherton.

Beautiful Airbnb with a true Balinese vibe. The room itself is lovely and clean with everything you need. Anne and Fernando are very friendly hosts and provide an amazing breakfast each day. Just a 20 minute drive from Port Douglas. The perfect place to relax and enjoy the tropical weather.

Matt was fantastic! We had a lovely stay and Matt greeted us warmly and showed us around on arrival.

Phenomenal! Beautiful location, wonderful hosts, peaceful - an oasis from the go, go, go. Edge Hill is easy to get around and close to inner city Cairns. Julie went above and beyond. She picked me up at airport, drop me off and picked me up from a day trip, and dropped me at airport. Definitely super host and I didn't want to leave. And the pool! A fantastic place and highly recommend!!

Julie’s place was absolutely spotless and provided a safe, comfortable haven for our Christmas stay. The location was wonderfully quiet and perfectly dark at night, ensuring a peaceful rest. Breakfast in the morning was a highlight, featuring delicious tropical fruits. This is the best BnB I have stayed in due to its exceptional cleanliness and the host’s effective communication. Highly recommend staying here!

Our recent stay at this quirky little gem tucked within the jungle was great. The hosts are truly special. From the moment we arrived, which was challenging for a foreigner, driving at night, they made us feel welcome and you can tell they genuinely care about their guests. The property is gorgeous and eccentric, the location is beautiful, but the place is in need of some TLC. Saying that, this didn’t detract from the experience—just something to keep in mind if you’re expecting a polished property. The setting itself is magical and the opportunity to disconnect makes up for any little imperfections. In short, if you’re open to a bit of adventure, enjoy quirky accommodation and are looking for a genuine connection with your hosts, this jungle retreat will provide an unforgettable experience. With a little more attention to maintenance, it could easily become a five-star escape—but even as it stands, it’s a unique spot that I’m very happy we visited.

lovely space, accommodating in terms of kitchen (microwave, 2x hot plate) and washing machine which is separate from the main house. bathroom and bedroom very clean. breakfast very generous.

This was our second stay with Matt, after my young son insisted we return to the Daintree on our trip to Cairns. Matt's place is as friendly and welcoming as the man himself, and we enjoyed some interesting and lively convos with the other guests to. Highly recommend.

Stunning separate bungalow with beautiful bedroom and bathroom....in a Botanical Garden with more than 600 plants....just an oasis!.... Also loved the yummy breakfasts with baguette from Le Crouton. Thank you for the lovely chats early in the morning and for cleaning during 4-day stay and water.

Great location for my Daintree adventure. Very peaceful with beautiful surroundings. Loved the tropical fruit plate every morning! Matt was very welcoming and helpful with local recommendations. Would definitely recommend it.

Matt’s place is just magical. Wonderful view of Thornton’s peak and rainforest and access to a spectacular little creek. Close to beautiful cow bay beach and a short drive away from cape trip. Matt is very welcoming and knowledgeable - no doubt staying at the Epyphite if visiting Daintree was the best choice!!

Overall I was very happy with my stay at Mark's place. Mark welcomed me into his home and straight away made me feel at ease and comfortable, as well as the bonus of his beautiful dog. I had the ensuite room, nice and private looking out to a lovely courtyard and I slept well in the comfortable bed. Good communication, a great location, plenty of local knowledge & he makes a great coffee too! It was exactly what I needed for my time in Townsville

A fabulous position with 180 degree view and set in a tropical forest. Great hosts and beautifully presented rooms. Highly recommended. I’m planning to stay longer next time
