Holiday rentals in Grosse Tete

Linnia and Trent were exceptional hosts and we absolutely loved the little cottage they've fixed up for guests. Unfortunately, a very cold cold front came through the day we arrived so it limited our outdoor plans but their recommendations for dining were fantastic! We hope to go back when it's warmer and enjoy some of the amenities they offer which looked wonderful.

Jessie’s cabin was lovely, the private beach was great to have a fire and do some kayaking. The cabin was clean and well-presented with everything you would need. Jessie even told us the cabin was ready earlier than expected. Would recommend.

The place has well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and it exudes a love for the lake . We have stayed multiple times and it is always clean and the hosts are very friendly and quick to respond.

Close to the city and good stop if you discover the area. The accommodation is perfectly clean and nice. 100% recommended

This is our 2nd time staying at Playin’ Possum. We absolutely love this rustic cabin on the bayou. Abbie is amazing- answering any questions and responding quickly. The location of the cabin is perfect… central to all kinds of fun! Our favorite part of Playin’ Possum is the deck that overhangs the bayou. Great place for morning coffee or wine in the evening- watching the birds and alligators mosey by. We’ll be back again soon!

What can I say??? WOW!!!!! It's a BEAUTIFUL place, I fell in love with it and how it was decorated. So peaceful, it rained while we were there and the sound of it hitting the roof was heavenly. So calming and relaxing.

Great place to stay and very clean.

What a fun place to spend a long weekend! Excellent location, well situated between various fun places (New Iberia, Avery Island, Rip Van Winkle Gardens, Lafayette, Breaux Bridge, Arnaudville/Bayou Teche Brewing). Was a great house for three couples - each room en suite (and two more baths to boot), and tons of great hangout space, inside and outside. Loved the game room with billiards table and arcade games, and awesome media room. Beautiful kitchen and beautiful location right on the bayou. Do not miss Jane's Seafood and Chinese in New Iberia, seriously - we've been to the area twice, and both times we've been there twice. Everything is so good, both seafood (crawfish if in season are a must!...charbroiled oysters & any shrimp) and Chinese (such good fried rice). And of course, boudin & cracklin everywhere you look - one of our faves is Legnon's in New Iberia, and Kartchner’s in Lafayette is always a good bet. And Kirk's U-Bet for the BEST chicken quacklin (and killer boudin).

Wow, all I can say is wow. This house is like living inside of a museum. It is huge and filled with absolutely museum quality furnishings. Wish we could have stayed longer but we were in town for a funeral. We will look for this house again when we travel back to southern Louisiana. Pictures don't do it justice. Also, it is on a large piece of property next to Bayou Teche. The enormous old oak trees are just beautiful and majestic. The furniture is just exquisite. If you are looking for a place near Jeanerette, this is well worth the money. The host was so responsive and helpful.
