Welcome to our newly renovated, cosy retreat. Close to Scafell Pike, Wasdale & Eskdale valleys, great location for Wainwrights/local beaches. Superfast WiFi, underfloor heating, easy to use log burner, perfect for chilly evenings, well equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washer dryer, microwave. Bath and shower. Fully enclosed garden front and back, small stream running through, farm views, off-road parking, peaceful location, yet walkable to amenities (fab bakery),pubs, restaurants and grocery store.

The space
Clean, spacious yet cosy. All newly renovated. More seating than you need for 4 - we don’t like it when you arrive at a house and they are trying to squeeze too many people in. This is our retreat and want you to feel as welcome and happy to be here as we do!

Neighbourhood highlights

This is a really peaceful corner of the Lakes. This is not the place to come if you are looking for loud music and night life! Although there are village shops, a very popular restaurant (The Wild Olive) and lovely pubs within a fifteen minute walk. The beach is only 3 miles away too. Perfect for walkers looking to complete Wainwrights in the Western Lakes including the challenges of Scafell Pike, Haystacks and Great Gable as well as Buckbarrow, Middle Fell, Caw Fell, Pillar and Kirk Fell. Super convenient for Wastwater, Wasdale, Eskdale and Ennerdale. Lots of local walks, and plenty of water for wild swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking or mountain bike trails in nearby Blengdale Forest.

Born and raised in Cumbria, but having moved away for work etc, we are so happy to be back in what we now know is one of the loveliest, undiscovered areas of the country. Everything is here, wild swimming, beach walks, mountain climbing and the friendliest of people. Good home cooked food at local independent pubs/restaurants. This is a very quiet peaceful corner of the Lake District.
