The space
Leonard’s Lookout accommodates up to eight guests across four double bedrooms. One bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, while two further bathrooms serve the remaining bedrooms.

The generous layout includes three separate lounge areas, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen and a dedicated office for remote work, trip planning or image processing. Televisions are available in two bedrooms and three of the living areas.

Built into the earth, the cave rooms remain naturally cool during the warmer months. Their thick walls and curved interiors create a calm atmosphere while modern bathrooms, comfortable bedding and Starlink Wi-Fi provide everyday convenience.

Outside, guests have private terraces, seating areas, open countryside and mountain views, plus a four-person spa. The property works particularly well for couples travelling together, groups of friends and adult family groups who want space to gather while still having quieter rooms to retreat to.

Leonard’s Lookout is offered exclusively to one booking at a time, so the entire cave house and its outdoor areas are yours throughout the stay.

Other things to note
Leonard’s Lookout is in a quiet rural location, so a car is essential. Orce is approximately seven minutes away, while Huéscar is around 20 minutes away and offers larger supermarkets and more services.

The property has a traditional rural waste system. Toilet paper must be placed in the bathroom bins provided and must not be flushed. Please make sure everyone in your group is aware of this before arrival.

Opening hours in smaller villages can be limited, so we recommend planning food, fuel and shopping in advance, particularly for late arrivals.

The exact address and arrival instructions are provided after booking. The property has dark skies and limited artificial lighting, so a torch can be useful when moving around outside after dark.

Hi, I’m VJ. My husband Adrian and I own Leonard’s Lookout, a traditional cave house near Orce. We bought it in 2022 and moved permanently to Spain in 2025. We want guests to feel comfortable and well informed. We are not on-site during stays, but we are only a short distance away and are available by message or phone if needed. Adrian is an amateur astrophotographer, so we are also happy to help with practical questions about the property and dark skies.
