About the Property
The East Wing is a self-contained wing of historic Moignes Court, one of Dorset’s oldest homes, dating back to 1267. Full of character and original features, it combines the atmosphere of a medieval manor house with comfortable family-friendly accommodation.
The East Wing sleeps up to 4 guests in two flexible bedrooms, each of which can be arranged as either a Super King bed or two single beds. There is a family bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a cosy dining room with wood burner, and a colourful sitting room perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the Jurassic Coast.
One of the most unique features of the property is exclusive access to the magnificent Courtroom – a vast historic hall with soaring Gothic church-like windows overlooking the grounds. Flooded with natural light and rich in character, this remarkable space is unlike anything found in a typical holiday cottage. Guests can enjoy the pool table, piano, board games, creative space and plenty of room to spread out, play and relax.
Outside, families can enjoy access to the large shared play garden, complete with a trampoline, climbing nets, playhouse, sand boat, mud kitchen and fire pit. There is plenty of space for children to play and explore, making it an ideal destination for families. Guests are also welcome to enjoy our private woodland walk just across the road, perfect for dog walks, den building, wildlife spotting and family adventures.

The East Wing is a completely self-contained wing of Moignes Court with its own private entrance, kitchen, living areas and bedrooms.
Guests have exclusive use of the East Wing and the magnificent Courtroom. There is a connecting door between the Courtroom and the owners’ part of the house, however this door remains locked throughout your stay to ensure your privacy.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the large shared play garden, which includes the trampoline, climbing nets, playhouse, sand boat, mud kitchen and fire pit area. This garden is shared with guests staying in our Yurt, Horsebox and Bus accommodation. The Yurt, Horsebox and Bus are all located some distance away from the East Wing, helping to maintain a sense of privacy while still creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where families can enjoy the facilities together.
The entrance to the shared garden is located immediately beside the owners’ front door, so you may occasionally see members of the Cree family coming and going as they access the main house. We are always happy to say hello, answer questions and help with recommendations during your stay.
Guests are also welcome to enjoy our private woodland walk located just across the road from Moignes Court.
Please note that the front lawn and the side garden on the opposite side of the house from the East Wing are reserved for the private use of the owners.
One parking space is provided for East Wing guests. If you require additional parking, please contact us before arrival and we will do our best to accommodate you.

• The East Wing forms part of historic Moignes Court, one of Dorset’s oldest homes, dating back to 1267. As with many historic properties, there are uneven floors, steps and original features that may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
• The owners live in the main part of the house and are usually available should you need any assistance during your stay.
• The East Wing has exclusive use of the Courtroom, while the play garden is shared with guests staying in our Yurt, Horsebox and Bus accommodation.
• The Yurt, Horsebox and Bus are located some distance away from the East Wing and each have their own separate accommodation areas.
• The property is particularly well suited to families, board game enthusiasts, creative retreats and guests looking for something a little different from a standard holiday cottage.
• One parking space is included. Please contact us before arrival if you require additional parking.
• Dogs are welcome. We also have a private woodland walk just across the road which guests are welcome to enjoy.
