A beautiful bright and spacious cottage in the heart of a historic village. Enjoy the idyllic private walled garden with just the sound of bird song and the odd church bell. With country walks straight from the doorstep, a 17th century Inn, Cafe and Play area within a short stroll the location is a perfect retreat after a long day exploring everything South Devon has to offer. Our guests appreciate our complimentary welcome hamper, comfy beds, an open fire and Sky/Netflix and Wi-Fi throughout.
The space
Outside the enclosed garden is very peaceful, quiet and relaxing with only the sound of singing birds or next doors chickens for company. There are two outdoor rattan sofas and coffee table, a retractable washing line and a small bistro set at the front of the cottage for enjoying a coffee in the morning sunshine.
There is a useful shed at the rear, which stores the outdoor cushions or also has plenty of space for items such as bikes, push chairs or golf clubs you you may wish to bring along.
Downstairs the front door leads into a bright and modern kitchen with built in Fridge/Freezer, Oven and Hob. There is also a Washing machine, Kettle, Toaster and a countertop Nespresso coffee machine.
The pine stripped latch door leads to the open plan Lounge/Dining space with feature inset gas real flame fire, two good sized velvet sofas and antique pine coffee table. 43" Sky glass TV/Wifi throughout. Lamp table housing games in the corner.
The dining area includes a farmhouse antique pine table with two barn style pendant lights, the table comfortably seats 4-6 people (there are two additional chairs upstairs should you have any visitors). The area is carpeted throughout and has two matching rugs at each end. There is also two large bright art canvases hanging on the walls and a floor standing lamp in the coner. Pine staircase leads to second floor: There are two bedrooms of fairly equal proportions, the larger being the twin bedroom (with zip and link mattresses so can be set up as a Superking bed on request) this room has the original fireplace (no longer in use) and canvas art work hanging on the walls. There is also an antique pine chest and two bedside stools/lampstands and window with view out towards the front of the cottage. Next door in bedroom two there is a King size wrought iron style cream bed, antique pine chest and artwork hanging on the wall, there is also a built in wardrobe and space to store your bags/cases and window with view out towards the front of the cottage. Both rooms are next door to the spacious newly decorated bathroom with rustic metro brick tiles, Duravit sanitary ware and antique console table with countertop sink. Ceiling mounted rain head shower and thermostatic bath filler and back to wall WC and contemporary towel rail. Pine louvred store, window with view to rear walled courtyard and adjacent cottages.
