Set in the picturesque village of Netherbury, Gatesgarth is a modern stone-built cottage in a pretty, walled courtyard garden on a small private drive. It is within walking distance of the country town of Beaminster and is 7 miles from the Jurassic coast via the attractive market town of Bridport.
Car parking is available on the garage driveway and in the garage if needed.

The space
The cottage is light and spacious with an entrance hall which is ample, as is the living room with its' simple furnishings and adjoining small conservatory. The two double bedrooms each have two single beds. The single beds in the larger bedroom may be placed together to form a double bed. The compact bathroom has a bath with overhead shower. The small kitchen is well equiped and the utility room has a washing machine/drier. There are modern night storage heaters to provide cosy warmth in winter.

Guest access
The cottage and garden are completely enclosed by walls providing guests with completely privacy. The greenhouse provides extra drying space.

Netherbury is a pretty village, nestled in a small valley, which gently attracts those who appreciate easy country walking through meadow or woodland enjoying the natural environment. There are many listed walks through the Dorset countryside.
The old town of Beaminster is within easy walking distance over fields. And 40 or so years ago children walked to Bridport, 4-5 miles overland, to visit relatives.
Netherbury is approached through country lanes. There are no shops but there is a much-appreciated pub, The Hare and Hounds, a mile down the lane.
Netherbury is 7 miles from the coast via the lively market town of Bridport. The Jurassic Coast sea is a mile or so further south of Bridport at West Bay where boat trips may be taken as well as other watery pursuits and coastal walks.
There are excellent restaraunts and take-aways in Beaminster and Bridport which cater for a variety of tastes including classic European, award winning Indian and Thai cooking. If you want a romantic evening or a pizza take-away it's available.
Local small businesses supply excellent ingredients for self-catering. Also there are Morrisons. Lidl, Co-op and Waitrose supermarkets within seven miles.
