The space
The North Wing occupies a private section of Shore Hall, our much-loved family home dating back to the 16th century. Rich in character and thoughtfully restored, it offers a wonderful blend of historic architecture and modern comfort.
The heart of the property is the spectacular lounge, created from a converted historic barn. With soaring ceilings, exposed beams, enormous windows and a wood-burning stove, it's a beautiful place to gather after a day exploring the countryside. A large dining table makes it equally suited to relaxed family meals, celebrations or simply lingering over breakfast.
The well-equipped kitchen enjoys views across the gardens, historic clocktower and pond, while the two spacious bedrooms have been individually designed with luxury bed linen, soft towels and beautifully appointed en suite bathrooms.
Outside, guests are free to explore 22 acres of formal gardens, orchards, woodland walks and wildflower meadows. During the warmer months, enjoy the heated outdoor swimming pool or a game of tennis before relaxing in the peaceful surroundings.
Although you'll feel wonderfully tucked away, Shore Hall is just minutes from Finchingfield, often described as England's most photographed village, 25 minutes from Saffron Walden, around 45 minutes from Cambridge, and just over an hour from London by train.
Fast gigabit fibre broadband is available throughout the property, making it equally suited to weekend escapes and longer countryside stays.

The North Wing forms part of our 22-acre family estate. During your stay you may see our horses, dogs, wildlife, members of our family, our estate team, or guests staying in our other holiday accommodation.
To ensure every residence enjoys peaceful use of the shared facilities, we allocate private two-hour sessions for the swimming pool, tennis court and barbecue area. We recommend reserving your preferred times at least 24 hours before arrival.
Parking is available beside the property, and EV charging is available (£56 per day).
Other things to note
Shore Hall is a peaceful family home and country estate, so we do not permit parties or events.
For the comfort and safety of all guests, only those included on your Airbnb booking may stay, and we'll ask for the names of all guests before arrival.
Families are welcome to book our optional horsemanship experience, where children spend two hours with our experienced equestrian team learning how to groom, feed and care for our friendly horses and ponies while enjoying an authentic hands-on experience of life on the estate.
