Ryeland Loft is a peaceful retreat ideal for couples/solo traveller appreciative of beautiful countryside. On the border of Three Counties, miles of public footpaths & spectacular skies are literally in your doorstep.Occupying its own building on the farm, the Loft is totally self-contained with all facilities for a peaceful break. If you are looking for a rural experience of oak trees, nature and walks, deep sleep and relaxation, this is for you.

The space
Accessible via an external staircase, occupying the entire top floor and building the Loft is laid out simply. The bedroom is at one end of the loft with an en suite bathroom, and double doors opening into the large open plan room with full kitchen, dining area and corner sofa with smart TV, this is a lovely space in which to rest, relax or work. Light streams in through the windows, from which you can drink in the far-reaching views of the orchard, countryside and Clee Hill beyond. The Orchard is available for your private use , just watch out for the odd sheep coming for a headscratch and sheep droppings! We do invite guests from mid Feb post lambing to stay and see the Ryeland lambs at their absolute cutest.

We are VAT registered so if you are travelling on business and need a VAT invoice contact us and we should be able to help.

We do have dogs, cats , horses, chickens, sheep and lambs that are resident on the farm and ask that you drive slowly and be aware of them.
There is a vast network of footpaths on the doorstep which make for fabulous walks, a map of the public footpaths and bridleways is in the welcome folder in the loft.

The comfortable bedroom has a super kingsize bed while the ensuite bathroom has a double-ended bath with hand held shower. Lie back, relax and watch the sky through the roof window.

If you are traveling on bikes of any form, you are most welcome, let us know in advance and we can accommodate undercover secure parking.

The internet is not infallible! We have good reception with Vodaphone, and other couriers are usually good but not always perfect.

What we can offer are the most spectacular views, incredible night skies and star gazing ( weather permitting !) and peace and harmony with access to some of the most amazing nature , countryside and walking that England has to offer.
We often see hares on the farm, partridge, pheasants and an array of birds. Swifts , swallows and owls nest in our farm buildings, red kites are often circling.
Somewhere to come if you love the countryside and nature and stars.
It is not suitable for children, we are in a working farm with farm machinery.

Neighbourhood highlights

Well off the beaten track, half a mile from the main road, Ryeland Loft is a new building located on our small farm in rural Worcestershire. Looking out over rolling hills and far reaching views over primarily unspoilt farmland, you can enjoy the tranquillity of a true countryside setting, interrupted only by the sounds of our flock of pedigree Ryeland sheep and horses. A walker's paradise, venture out along public footpaths from the doorstep and connect with miles of routes across the county. We can also offer undercover storage for motorbikes with a safe environment for those touring.

Tenbury Wells is just under 2 miles away and is a lovely market town on the banks of the River Teme. There are lots of lovely independent shops, food outlets plus a regular artisan food market, which draws producers from the surrounding orchards and farms. Ludlow is a little further away and has much to offer, including a racecourse, which offers a very enjoyable day out!

Our guest guide provides all of the details of the fabulous local independent shops in Tenbury Wells for you to stock up with local produce. We have a fabulous local butcher, a greengrocer, a deli, and a bakery, and a little Tesco too if you need it.

Fresh eggs are usually available , so you will find some at the bottom of the stairs for you most days, along with any in season produce we have in the garden. March/ April we are blessed with fabulous rhubarb, July and August the Orchard provides plums, apples, damsons , pears and green gauges . May- June depends how productive the vegetable and fruit garden is ..red and black currents, artichokes, raspberries and strawberries are all a possibility..

The UK's second largest city, Birmingham, is 40 miles away and Hay-on-Wye, made famous by its wonderful book festival is less than an hour's drive away. Our favourite is Ludlow…a foodie extravaganza only a 15 minute drive away with Ludlow Castle, great restaurants, cafes and shops…

Where I went to school: Strathallan , Perthshire, Scotland
I have loved creating a business to share my favourite little bolt holes. The Old Forge Cottage , is in prime Cotswolds, in the centre of the market town of Stow on the Wold was the first gem. Ryeland Loft in the farm yard in rural Worcestershire, our fully off grid , accessible luxury glamping, The Hide at Haws Hill at the bottom of the farm in its own 1/2 acre, and finally Fountain Cross Cottage,on the beach in The Highlands of Scotland.
