Stunning Country Home

ChristineRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We had a wonderful time staying in Barrys home. The house contained a lot of memorabilia and artwork, which at times could be over stimulating but kept us entertained at the same time. The property had all you could ask for and more. The contact with Barry was easy, friendly and informative. We would highly recommend Barry and his wonderful home.

Brecon Beacons Getaway for Two

CharlotteRating, 5 stars6 months ago
I loved everything about this place, the bed was very comfy and the location was perfect. The bath and shower are wonderful and so is the soap and shower gel and linens available. I loved the eco friendly toilet paper too. Two points to note: there was no chopping board I could see? Fortunately most of my food was already prepared so it was not a big deal. And I believe it is the hot water tank that makes a noise intermittently? So, if you're a light sleeper like me, you'll need ear plugs despite being in very quiet and peaceful countryside. I loved my stay here it was very special and I would stay again when visiting the brecons!

Large rural farmhouse. Dog friendly. Stunning view

StephenRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We had a perfect new year stay in Shirley's accommodation! The pictures on the listing do not do this place justice! There is so much room it is easy to fit 10 people and not be stepping on each others toes all the time. The instructions to get there and local information was extremely clear and useful. Shirley came to greet us and check we had settled in ok and if we needed any help. She was so friendly and helpful! When the WiFi went down (absolute disaster for the kids!), Shirley responded very quickly and rectified the problem immediately - thanks! The house is in a wonderful rural location to enjoy morning sunrises and close enough to Worcester to be able to easily visit and gather resources. There are so many walks which can easily be done from the house, we couldn't choose which to go on though the weather put paid to our grand plans. Such a great place and location and definitely would recommend for larger groups looking for this kind of accommodation.

We had an incredible time at Durstone Cottages. The layout was perfect for a large group, having 2 kitchens was so helpful, and it felt really private. We did a wonderful walk to a lovely local pub, and really enjoyed the games room. Great for a hen/stag do or large group!

Pond House Cottage - a Cotswolds Getaway

SophieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
What a wonderful break at Pond House! The cottage was so lovely and cosy but at the same time, had all the space you could need. I stayed with a friend and our young children and it was perfect for our needs. Louise was a wonderful host, who made us feel incredibly welcome and and at home. She even treated the kids to a visit from Sunny, the Shetland Pony, which was a real bonus. The kitchen was surprisingly well equipped with everything you could need to make nice home cooked meals. We'd love to come back again 😊

Rustic cabin

MarRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We used the rustic cabin as our base from where to go to different hikes and villages. After a long day out, the cabin was the perfect peaceful and quiet place to chill. We didn't use all the appliances but the kitchen is very well equipped with a rice steamer, air fryer, toaster, microwave... Everything you need in a short stay. The crown of the room though, is that reclinable leather sofa in front of the fireplace... That felt so hygge!!

Your guide to Malvern Hills District

All About the Malvern Hills

Dividing the counties of Worcestershire and Herefordshire, the beautiful Malvern Hills region promises stunning landscapes, traditional towns, and a rich musical and literary heritage. The dramatic scenery has inspired creatives for centuries, including an acclaimed English composer who was born here. Today, a thriving creative scene offers music and arts festivals throughout the year, including the Ledbury Poetry Festival.

The Malvern Hills have been inhabited for millennia, thanks to the purity and availability of the water in the area. The region rose to prominence with the popularity of “water cures” in Edwardian and Victorian times. In their heyday, the Malvern Hills were a national healing and wellness destination. Today, the natural spring water of the area is still known for its purity, and there are several luxury spas offering restorative treatments. The hills also offer scenic walking routes — gentle strolls and exhilarating climbs alike.

Photographers and artists flock here at various times of year to capture the mist that hangs in the valleys and the stunning sunsets over the rolling Herefordshire countryside.

The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Malvern Hills District

The Malvern Hills are known for typical British weather, with warm summers and cold, wet winters. If you’re planning to make the most of the many walking routes in the area, you’re better off planning your visit for the spring and summer months. Visit in May for the Royal Horticultural Society’s Malvern Spring Festival, a celebration of the wildlife, flowers, and crafts of the local region. In June, the Royal Three Counties Show is a large festival of agricultural and farming heritage with food fairs, farming displays, and entertainment for all ages. In mid-July, Malvern Hills hosts the UK’s biggest free blues festival in Upton, with performances across various venues.

Taking to the hills in colder months requires sturdy footwear and waterproof clothing, but paying a visit to a local pub for a hearty lunch is a popular way to warm up.

Top things to do in Malvern Hills District

Paragliding

The Malvern Hills attract hang gliders and paragliders from across the country. For incredible thrills and views across the hills, experienced paragliders can take off from Pinnacle Hill. If you’re new to the sport, be sure to book with a qualified pilot for a tandem flight. If you’d prefer to watch, there are plenty of cafes and bars at street level with commanding vantage points.

End to End Walk

This spectacular 9.3-mile trail across the top of the Malvern Ridge includes the chain’s main summits. Starting from Chase End and finishing in North Hill, the route has some particularly challenging sections, making it unsuitable for novice hikers. Be sure to arrange transport to the start or finish of this linear route, and don’t forget to pack your sandwiches.

Witley Court

Once a magnificent stately home and royal party destination, Witley Court was destroyed by fire in 1937. The remaining ruins make for a unique day of exploration. The dramatic architecture is teeming with memories of the former residents, while the immaculate gardens and enormous fountains make a lasting impression. The estate offers a wilderness play area, a shop with an array of heritage-inspired food and drink, and the opportunity to spot great crested grebes.
